Pill = breakthrough bleeding

So I have been on Estelle for around 5 weeks now. And have had breakthrough bleeding since. Only a tiny bit not like a usually period. I did skip the first set of sugar pills as I had bleeding before that and wanted it to stop, but now have had small amounts of bleeding ever since.
My doctor recommended stopping for a while but I went from the implanon to the pill recently and took a break for 2 months but got bad acne and got very moody! So I went back on the pill to improve this. My skin is perfect now and I’m pretty good with moods and pretty happy all the time so everything else seems okay.
Has anyone had something similar happen ? What did you do ? Did it get better ? I know people say wait a few months and I’m think I’m going to do this just to see if t settles but waned to see if anyone has a smililar thing happen?

    This is non-pill related, but an important symptom to note if you’re 40+: I had mid-cycle bleeding a few times when I was 41 & my doctor said it was serious because I was over 40! I had to have a laparoscopy under general anaesthetic to check it out. It turned out to be OK, but to anyone 40+ with breakthrough bleeding – see your doctor!

    I’m on Estelle too, and sometimes I do get spotting. I’ve learnt to just take notice of my body and what is the new normal being on the pill. I absolutely love having clear skin for the first time in many many years, and that I can choose when or if to skip a period. It is a bit annoying sometimes to get the spotting, but it’s not enough for me to worry about. If it’s not serious, I don’t take notice! I assume this is normal to have a little spotting every now and then?

    It’s common to have breakthrough bleeding once commenced. I take the pill continuously and depending on other medications I am taking it can cause the spotting. On my doctors advice I take 7 days break as necessary and then resume taking the pill. It always works for me There is no need to stop taking the pill for longer than a week.

    Other points to consider…

    Do you take the pill at a similar time each day?
    Have you thrown up less than 12 hours since taking the pill recently?
    Have you been on antibiotics recently?
    Other medication you take can increase breakthrough bleeding.
    If the problem continues and the above all all clear, sometimes the doctor may recommend a higher estrogen based pill.

    Good luck.
