I have Keratosis Pilaris on my legs?

Hey beauty lovers,

I have had these small red bumps on my legs, just half way down from my kneecap to my foot, just on the back for a few years now! They are most definitely not very nice and I always get very self conscious about them! They are very visible especially after I come out of the shower, they get brighter than ever! I have tried getting rid of them for years now, I have exfoliated, changed my diet and I have seen no change, it still here and I really hate them! Has anyone else had this problem and gotten rid of it? I would love to here what you guys have to say and see if it can possibly help!

Thank you! xx

I know Paula’s Choice makes these special wipes especially for KP. I’ve never used them, but I have heard of them.

    Hi Linda561,

I had this on the backs/sides of my upper arms – it still flairs up in winter and when my skin’s particularly dry! I always used moisturising lotion to no effect, in fact, it often seemed to exacerbate the problem.

For me, I found coconut oil was the miracle cure. I kept a jar of it in the shower and slathered it on my upper arms every time I showered. The bumps gradually went away and my rough, bumpy skin became smooth and soft!

The only issue was I found that I had to do it constantly to stop it coming back… the minute the skin got dehydrated the bumps would return. So it’s definitely an ongoing sort of treatment!

I’ll be interested to see what other treatments the bh members suggest 🙂

    xx

      Hi Beth,

Interesting, I have never tried using coconut oil before! I might have to give that a go! Thank you for the suggestion! xx

Have you thought of going to see a skin specialist?

No I haven`t but I think I may have to if they don`t go away! I might try some other methods and if they still don`t work, I will go see one as I really want them gone!
