Coffee Scrubs

Hey guys!

Just wondering what are your thoughts about coffee scrubs.

It feels really great on the skin but I am concerned about the coffee going down the drain. Usually, when we make coffee, we put the coffee in the bin or not down the drain so it doesn’t clog it.

But I can’t put the coffee scrub into the bin, I have to rinse it off in the shower…

What do you guys do? What do you guys use?

Elly

Hide away! They do a great coffee scrub as well as soaps and very reasonably priced

Thanks for all the info! I was thinking of getting coffee scrubs but not anymore! I don’t want to pour drain-clogging products down any drain – not my drain, hotel drain or office drain. We need to be sensible and considerate.

You are so right. I`ve stopped using it at the office`s bathrooms as well.

Had never thought that coffee granules couldn’t go down the drain – might have to go back to the sugar scrubs.

Thanks for this Topic. I never thought of the coffee scrubs clogging the drain before this. Great discussions.

Ooooh, I never thought about that but then again I have not used coffee scrubs therefore I have not had the need to but good to know that they are not drain friendly.

I’ve been following along on this thread and i’m so sad! I was waiting for someone to pop in with a really good reason why they’re still ok to use. But in order to save the pain of the drain clogging i’ll give it a miss at home (however i am going on holiday soon so maybe i’ll use it at the hotels!)

So I know this is naughty so I`ve been using it at work….in the showers….

I can picture new signs being installed in hotel rooms PandaBear18….

PLEASE DO NOT USE COFFEE SCRUBS AS THEY CLOG UP OUR DRAINS!

Wonder how these Day spas cope with the coffee scrub?

      Ha ha PandaBear!

My sil has a similar disregard for hotels. When my brother`s family came home from a holiday, I asked my niece & nephew what they did. They said they jumped on the beds. I said they`re not allowed to do that, but they protested that they were allowed. I turned to my sil who was hiding her face, laughing & telling the kids to keep quiet. It seems they are allowed to jump on the beds at hotels, but not at home. They weren`t aware that they weren`t supposed to tell anyone about it. That`s always the first thing they rush to do when they arrive somewhere: jump on the beds! LOL!

Hahaha my son is the opposite, he jumps on his bed at home but not in hotels! I love how good they are with “”secrets”” lol

I’m almost empty so I think I’ll be throwing mine out

I still have half a pack of the travel size coffee scrub I picked up on a beautorium. Think I`ll apply it in the backyard (standing on the grass) while wearing my 2 piece cossie then rinse it off with a bucket of warm water !

Best do it before the weather gets cold – the neighbours will get a laugh!

As I started reading this I hadn`t got to the cossie wearing part and had a mental picture, **Kassalee, ** which, although delightful, would have eyes on stalks in some neighbourhoods!!! Enjoying a giggle right now!

hehe, that`s so funny and so clever!

Ha I`m glad you added the dossier comment! My neighbors wouldn`t want to see me in a fossil full stop.

Hi, i stumbled upon this article a week ago after i picked up a Buddy Scrub (was intrigued by the trymefree offer) at woolies.

Its an article from Allure saying how drain cleaner doesn’t even help get rid of coffee scrubs and we should never use it. I fired an email to buddyscrub but no reply yet so im too scared to try it. Abit disappointed though as its vegan, organic and all.

I like using them but they are messy. Didn’t think about them clogging up the drain though.
