breast augmentation after baby

Is it really a good idea to have breast implants 2 years after having a baby? I’ve always wanted to get that extra volume and lift to look and feel better about myself, but how would it affect my ability to breastfeed? Also I’m looking for a reliable place to have my surgery, any suggestions?

I suggest that you do a lot of research before deciding having a breast augmentation. I had my breast augmentation two years after I had my twins. I remember it was not as painful as I expected it would be especially the first few months. My surgeon Dr Rino Lorenzo in Manila helped me a lot from the get go. He was very accomodating and his staff was too. I am now more confident and happy with my new self.

I was offered one after losing allot of weight but decided against it , I would wait until your children are over with and then make a decision.

I had breast Augmentation after I had my son. And after a hystorectomy and I was so upset. I was always small. To the point that I would layer clothes to make myself look bigger all over. I was also only 7 stone. I thought that I would love to just feel like a woman again and having breast implants was something I always wanted. And I have never regretted it for one moment. I did look bigger at the start. It took alittle for me to get use to. As I was only an A just, So I asked the surgeon what he thought would suit me. He suggested a C and so we went with that, as I didnt want to look fake. And after all these years and checks I am still glad I had them done. I have no visible scar as he did it under the breast crease, and as I heal well you wouldnt see it. I saw a good surgeon who also made sure that my original breast tissue is over the implant so that you can feed if you want. And you can feel any lumps. So I think its really up to the person. But personally I would wait until you have had your family. As like normal breasts you will still expand and contract when your milk comes in. And I have heard of some women saying that they didnt like the way their breasts were after feeding. And those that didnt still found that their breast still did drop abit.

Agree with everyone here. Make sure you’re done with having babies. My cousin had implants before she had her baby boy and the first 6 months after her bub’s birth were excruciating because she produced so much milk and the implants added to the discomfort (genetically our family lactates heavily when pregnant… Sorry tmi). I know other women who barely produce any milk during pregnancy so if you fall within that spectrum you shouldn’t have much discomfort.

There’s a clinic in sydney who do breast augmentation at $6k, I know 3 girls who had their surgery from there. Their results look amazing some even better than the $10k ones.

I’ve had two augmentations, the first was four years ago and the most painful experience of my life. the second was a year ago to replace the original implants as they were the PIP ones which were recalled, second surgery was nowhere near as painful. I haven’t lost any sensation, the scarring is unnoticeable and I’m super happy with them as i feel far more in proportion. It’s recommended you wait until you are finished having children before surgery as you can end up with a less than perfect result i you have more children down the track. I would recommend having the surgery done in Australia just due to the pain factor, I was just so glad to have my family around and be in my own home and bed not some strange country. Going under the muscle is far more painful but gives a more natural look, over the muscle you get more of an augmented look. It all depends on the kind of result you are looking for. I have never ever regretted my surgery and I’m a 10 G now so they are definitely not subtle. I always wanted to have big breasts so it was definitely a decision I made or myself, not for attention or male reaction (you need to develop a thick skin because you will get a lot of unwelcome comments if you go a large size). If I had $5 for every time I’ve been told “you’ve got amazing tits” they would have paid for themselves!!! Make sure you do your research really well regarding your surgeon, don’t go for the cheaper ‘twilight’ sedation option, as an ex theatre nurse there is no way I’d have such a surgery with just a bit of local and midazolam, nooooo way! Where abouts in Australia are you? I can ask around the surgeons I know and get a great recommendation for you. I’d say go to the clinic, get a consult, ask to take a set home to wear for a weekend inside a crop top so you get an idea of the size, weight, sensation etc and be 100% sure it’s what you want before you decide and always be sure you are getting them done for yourself. That’s really the best advice I can give sugar.

That’s great advice Miss Danger! Can I ask what size you were before? What made me change my mind is that everyone I knew who had got them done, went from an A cup to a C or D. I’m already a C, so I just thought there wasn’t much point. I mainly wanted them because compared to the rest of my body they are quite small. I’ve decided to work on making the rest of my body smaller, and hope my boobs don’t shrink! 🙂

Don’t do it! There is a huge variance in what is normal & healthy but we’re so accustomed to seeing surgically enhanced perfection we don’t know what the normal spectrum is!

I know someone who had breast implants before their second child. They could breast feed fine. But recommended not getting it done until after you’ve finished having children as the boobs aren’t as perky! Most states have reliable plastic surgeons. I know a lot of people who have gone to Thailand and haven’t had any problems! But i think now the Australian surgeon’s aren’t charging as much so there isn’t as much of a need to go overseas. I was going to get them but have since changed my mind.
