Bath products that can be used in spa baths…

Hoping this doesn’t drown under all the new topics as I need some advice here please!

I’m going away soon for a mini break (yay!) and the place we’re staying has a spa bath (double yay!)

I’m not normally a ‘bath person’ but like the idea of a nice relaxing spa bath with something nice and smelly added. :p

I’m worried about using anything that will cause damage or make an absolute mess. I imagine bubbles would be out so what else can I use? I’d like something that smells great but is also moisturising if possible. I like the looks of the solid bath oils from Lush but worry that it will damage the jets? What other options can I look at?

Thanks in advance!

Oils and salts are perfect in mine!

I used to use specialist products in our spa, pool companies should let you know who makes them. The ones I used I can’t remember the name of (been a couple of years now) but they were very similar to this American company’s crystals http://www.insparation.com/

You have to be careful what you use so it doesn’t void the warranty on your spa, wrong products can really mess with the pump.

Here’s some info from the Whirlpool spa bath site (Hubby and I need to redo our family bathroom, and have been looking into spa baths as a possible option). Not saying to buy whirlpool products, but it might help with ideas:

    “Bath salts:
Dead sea bath salts are a good option for whirlpools as they don’t foam up and they dont usually contain any oils.
Dead sea salts help to soften the water and are particularly beneficial in alleviating dry skin conditions as well as acting as a natural exfoliant thereby remarkably improving skin texture.

    Pure-Spa low foam bath essences
Dedicated whirlpool bath additives are very good. Our range is available in 6 luxurious fragrances they are oil free & contain a foam controller so you will be able to enjoy the perfect balance of fragrance and bubbles.

Aromatherapy Bath fragrances in small doses these type of fragrances may be suitable but beware of those that require a carrier oil.”

Apparently carrier oils clog the pipes, so you only want to use pure essential oils. Interesting!

Hope you have a lovely time away, Mayday!

Hmmmm… so lovely oily things look like they may be out (I suspected as much). 🙁

Looks like bath salts then. I`ll also look at Whirlpool`s website and check out their low foaming range of bubbles.

      Thanks for the info!

EDIT – oh no! The Whirlpool site is UK based so I won`t be ordering the bath foam. Bath salts it is!

Them to see if they have a store near you where you could pick it up? I know they were aiming to branch out to stores 🙂

Mayday the Bomb cosmetics bath melts we had in our discovery bags a few years ago work in spa baths. No bubbles but very moisturising!
They have cocoa butter in them from memory.
    Customer Service is brilliant too.

You can keep them in the little bag they come in so the ones with petals etc don’t make a mess in the bath 🙂

    Or the creamers

I have to leave for work but the brulees and mallows would work too from memory. Sometimes they have specials check out their specials or Facebook page too.

Oh wow these look AMAZING!! I had never heard of them before and now I plan to try everything they have!!

Thanks for the link Oonga 🙂

I`ve bought from them before (not bath products though) and agree the customer service is top notch!

I like the look of their lovely things but hate paying postage for such a small order. I could add some other stuff but I`m supposed to be on a spending ban. A body lotion or two may be calling my name though… 😉

How about bath salts? They will sit on the bottom of the spa until they dissolve, will still smell great but you won’t get the bubbles.

Thanks Seezora! I was thinking about bath salts, they`re such an 80s thing in my memory! :p

They`d smell good but I was hoping for something moisturising too. I might have to go with salts if I can`t come up with anything else though.

Hey mayday, I went away like this to a place that had a spa bath, with bubbles and an outdoor jacuzzi. I did use the spa bath with bubbles, but didn’t use any product in it.
I ended up not using the jacuzzi because it was a 4 seater, and I didn’t want to drain it all back out and there wasn’t too much privacy anyway.

Sorry, back to you, gosh, I don’t have anything helpful, but hopefully beauties will help you out. I didn’t know they made bath products for spa bubbles, so I’d love to know too.

I hope you have a wonderful bubbly time away and thoroughly enjoy yourself. I’m happy for you!!!!!

      Thanks CB! 🙂

I think bubbles would be a no go plus I don`t fancy a mess to clean up when I`m finished. Kind of defeats the point of a relaxing bath in the first place.

I might go into Lush soon and ask if their oil baths will work or what they`d recommend.
