48 hour Deodorant: Have you put these deodorants to the 48 hour test?

I’ve noticed lately there seems to be more and more Deodorants claiming to protect you for 48 hours.
How often do you shower?
Have you put these deodorants to the 48 hour test?

I have tried a few ’48 hour’ deodorants and so far, the only one that kind of lives up to the claim is the Nivea Protect and Care. I would still smell fresh and clean after almost two days. The other ones I have tried are from the Dove range and they definitely don’t last for 48 hours.

dont think i would be comfortable going 48 hours without showering…. personally those deodorants dont love me feeling fresh for much longer than an 8 hour shift at work. they barely last an hour at the gym so with my lifestyle i wouldnt think they would last any where near that long. maybe if you didn’t work for whatever reason or were staying at home for a long weekend not doing anything but watching tv then it might last 48 hours….. maybe

Yes, those clinical deodorants are amazing! You apply at night (I only apply to freshly washed pits), but in the morning, I still scrub my pits in the shower without reapplying. It still works!

You`re still meant to shower each day when using the deodorant.

I use the Mitchum one and love it. I don’t perspire a lot normally, and find they take me through 48 hours with no trouble. (I shower daily, but just apply the deodorant every second day – it still seems to work).

That is interesting nataliadimi. I have found that Mitchum is one of the best deodorants and it would want to be for the $ they charge.

I use the mitchum one myself but I also shower daily so never tested the 48 hour. I have had it last all day with no issues, however I have noticed recently though if I do sweat (I’m not generally a sweaty person but just like to use long last in case!) that I do feel the sweat slightly and doesn’t keep me as dry as what it used to. Don’t know if this is just my body changing or if the formula has changed? But in saying that there is no seat smell at all. Hope that helps?

I shower every day unless I’m sick with a migraine. A killer migraine might take me out of action for a few DAYS! That’s when I appreciate all the help I can get, but I certainly wouldn’t leave my flat in that state. In summer, or if I’ve been particularly active, I’ll shower twice a day. The claim that a deodorant will last up to 48 hours is attractive. I love camping, but I like to have daily access to a shower block.

One tip, no matter what type of deodorant you’re using: never reapply deodorant to sweaty pits! BO is caused by bacteria, not sweat. If you can’t shower, at least wash your pits – then reapply deodorant. Especially with a roll-on, because you contaminate the roller ball with the odour-causing bacteria.

Where I go camping sometimes there are no luxuries of toilets or showers. Hehe..I do love camping with those amenities. Agree if you don`t least shower then give your pits a wash to rid the bacteria and wear clean clothes. I`m using the Rexona Antibacterial defence roll on atm which was a cheapie at Coles on special for $2. Has a powdery scent and has been effective. Said to give 48 hour protection.

Haven’t put them to test for a 48 hour period. If I was roughing it out camping for a weekend without a proper shower then would be good to feel assured I wouldn’t be super stinky! I shower daily and apply after showering and they keep me feeling clean and fresh all day. I find if I apply after sweating, then sometimes they aren’t as effective. Like sweating at gym and skipping the shower and applying deodorant. I find They work best after cleansing in shower. Tried a few natural ones that aren’t that effective. I’d like to try the black chicken one.

I shower every morning, on hot days morning and night. I make it to the 24 hr mark comfortably but if I’m having a hectic morning and don’t get to the shower till lunchtime I notice I’m not as “fresh” not B.O or anything like that and no one else can tell but I’m aware.
    Does that help?
