Ive recently became a member and I am yet to experience beautorium I was just wondering what prices are usually like. Like delivery and how many points per item estimated Thankyou
Prices are based off the retail price of a product. For example, a Maybelline mascara is $20. TWENTY Beautyheaven points is worth $1, so in order to redeem the mascara you would need 400 points (20pts x $20). Or for a $10 lipstick you'd need 200 points (20pts x $10) etc.
As for delivery there's a $10 FLAT RATE charge no matter how many items are in your order. It usually takes 4-6 weeks after Beautorium closes for you to receive your order (it is sent by Express Post). BH always includes so many generous samples in the parcels, you'll love it!!
I find the 'shopping' and checkout process very smooth and easy, I'm sure you won't have much trouble. Usually a week before the Beautorium opens, there's a "Window Shopping" period where you can preview the hundreds of products on offer and add them to your wishlist (but can't check out yet), then you can officially check out when the Beautorium goes live. There are specific dates for each category, e.g. Makeup opens on 14th, Skincare opens on 15th, Fragrance opens on 16th etc...
Here's the FAQ page for all your Beautorium questions! Tells you everything you need to know:
Thankyou so much that seems so fair plus samples I’m so glad I joined BH
Occasionally (not often) there would be a discount e.g. 50% off , 25% off meaning you can actually get more by using the same amount of points. Last time I was fortunate to get a foreo at 25% off - i wouldn't be able to get that without the discount!
That is so awesome wonder if I’ll be that lucky
I believe that the $10 flat rate applies to each shopping session - so if you buy some stuff on day one & then spend more points on day five, you are up for two delivery charges, as the packages will not be combined.
So much fun too!
Are the different days for different categories
Yes, different days, eg. skincare might be on the Monday, another category on Tuesday, then perfume might be on the Wednesday. If you wanted skincare & perfume items, you can either wait until Wednesday & hope that your skincare choices haven't sold out; OR, you could place an order on Monday (for $10 postage), then place a second order on Thursday (for another $10 postage).
My strategy is usually to wait until all of my chosen items are available, but sometimes I miss out if the earlier items have already sold out.
Makeupcat explained it perfectly!! I tend to wait until all the categories are released as well to save on freight but I have missed out on items by doing that too LOL
I have been a BH member for 5 years and accumulated my points. But i have yet spent any on Beautorium. I keep thinking if i accumulate more points i can get better stuff :)
You can certainly purchase better products if you have thousands of points, jillian but on the other hand if you spend some of those points you usually get lots of lovely samples to try out and, of course, review and earn more points.
Haha Jillian I had to check out how many points you've got. Sorry for being nosy.
There are usually some good hair equipment for 2000+ points. I might start saving for a GHD (I think I saw it for about 4500 points...)... mine is 10 years old!
There are usually a couple of really big ticket items which everyone wants but nobody has enough points for, so it's a good strategy, jillian!
I still haven't actually spent anything in Beautorium as nothing has ever really caught my eye. A part of me is hoping that changes this time round :) I also wasn't aware of how they worked out points to price so that was cool information! Many thanks.
I make a practise to get anything I'd be disappointed I missed out on as soon as it comes up - otherwise I wait until I can get more than one item for the same amount of postage.
Eyeream, sometimes there are some items which almost everyone would like so many of us miss out then but overall the distribution is really good.
I just recently joined bh and can’t wait to go shopping but I don’t think I’ll have enough points for a while to make the $10 postage fee worthwhile. Oh well I’ll guess I’ll just have to window shop and drool for a while.
Hi, Okatko! You have to hit silver level (351 points) before you can partake in Beautorium, so write some reviews & you'll build up your points.
Thankyou. I am waiting on a few reviews to be approved. I am so happy to have stumbled across this community. (I’d call it a website but it’s so much more than that. It’s therapy for me, retail and otherwise). I’ve been on a beauty hiatus (young kids) so I’m a bit out of practice with the make up techniques and know how. I love that I can get advice, different opinions and ideas. I like sharing my own thoughts on make up etc and I’ll try to be a valuable and helpful member of bh. I can’t promise to contribute often and I might disappear for awhile but I’ll always hope to return.
Welcome to the forum Okatko. This is indeed the right place to come to learn all about beauty and to get tips from other members. Your input will certainly be valued. Good luck with building up points to spend in the Beautorium, whether it's the next one or the one after that.
Welcome! There are some of us who disappear and then reappear again so we are used to that, just keep on on coming round when you can.
Welcome to the forum, Okatko. I'm sure you'll love it here, the forum is such a great escape xx
Well said Indie - yes isn't a fabulous escape. I love it for a break! : )
Welcome Okatko! Looks like you could get addicted to bh too - I have been for 10 years omg - enjoy!
Welcome Okatko! I spend wayyyyy too much time here!
