you should only brush teeth with a soft tooth brush until they understand how to spit it out about 18mths

my girls have used toothbrushes for as long as I can remember but I was told not to use toothpaste until around 2 years due to them spitting it out. They practised for ages with just water and then finally graduated to toothpaste (colgate my first toothpaste I think its called). They totally love it!!

I spoke to my dentist about this only a week ago, and they said definitely not before 12 months for toothpaste.
My DD started teething at 8 weeks, and I gave her a baby first stage toothbrush to use as a teether, as it was all that fit in her mouth, and she couldn`t have any chemicals til 4 months. She loves it and now that she has two teeth, she rubs away at them and chomps on the toothbrush a lot during the day, and this is also teaching her to get used to using a toothbrush later on. They also advise that you let them drink water after bottles or meals to help wash away stuff from their teeth and I use the toothbrush to rub on them to clean.

I just started brushing my daughters teeth a couple months ago and she likes brushing them herself with this cute little pink brush. She looks so cute and I can`t get the toothbrush back off her.
