toe walkers

Hi, nobody has to reply to this but I just needed to tell a friendly ear and I know that I have many of them in here.

My little Miss 4yo has been a toe walker from when she could walk. CAFHS always said that it was something she would grow out of. Well we have just spent the last two weeks at doctors, orthapeadic surgeons and physiotherapists. For my Miss 4 it seems she was born with a shortened tendon in her right leg and she has to have a cast put on for two weeks, taken off then another put on. ‘They will put her leg into a different position each time. There is no guarantee that this will fix it but it’s the only option at the moment. The surgeon won’t operate on a child under 7/8 We’ve put it off until next school holidays, because she starts school on Monday and we don’t want to make to many changes to her life in one go. thanks for listening xxxxxx

Hi Pink Shoes, good to hear from you. I imagine it will be a challenge keeping that cast dry but hopefully it will do what it`s meant to. Good luck with it all and let us know how you and your little girl get on. xxxx

Thanks Hooha and elmorules.. I know keeping it dry is going to be very hard. Little kids love jumping in puddles and it is winter. and I can`t watch her at school. I imagine I`m going to have problems also with baths. She thinks shes a mermaid at the moment so bathroom gets soaked every night.

Thanks lovely ladies for your comments elainebr18 CAFHS sorry it`s called CAWHS is Child and Womens Health Service and is run by midwives. I live in SA so don`t know what it`s called in other states. You go to them for your childs checkups eg 3months, 6 months, etc etc where they weigh, measure and assess your child.

Well my darling miss 4 loved her first week of school and told me that she did not miss and did not think about me one bit. Thanks…. but I kinda know what she means. She was so busy learning new things. We told the teacher about her leg on the Monday and on Friday the teacher said that she had to let miss4 sit down alot instead of standing as she complained that her leg hurt.
