Pregnancy First Trimester

My sister is pregnant and the baby will be our first niece/nephew. We are all excited and looking forward to see the newest member of our family. My sister was asking a lot of questions but it was too long ago that I gave birth with my son and you know how pregnancy is different for every woman. All I remember during my first trimester was I’m experiencing constipation and my breasts feels tender. What are your experiences during the first trimester of your pregnancy?

For both pregnancies in the first trimester, I had really bad morning sickness, sore boobs and was feeling really tired.

Oh, and as for cravings – icy cold, fresh oranges and/or orange juice and dirty old potato cakes, the saltier the better 😉

I recall feeling tired and queasy all day long. Not throwing up at all, just a queasy, sea-sick kind of feeling but honestly for about 13hours a day, EVERY day; such that it did my head in!! But it magically went away around the 13-14week mark.

The only thing I had in the first trimester was a ravenous appetite. Nothing was safe!!! Apricots in particular were my biggest craving.

Seriously, I put on nearly my entire pregnancy weight gain in the first three months and then gained nothing else the entire pregnancy until the last couple of weeks.

Awww congratulations to your sister. Yup, I had 40 weeks of all day sickness. It was so horrible.

One thing I loved doing was signing up for emails on the progress of pregnancy. It would be a daily email showing what bub was developing, what I might experience and some ideas to help.

How exciting! Congratulations to you all! First trimester I felt really bloated, my breasts were tender and went up at least a cup size, and I had morning sickness 24/7.

  • Morning sickness can be a real problem in the 1st trimester

That’s great! That would be an addition to your clan. Anyway, I would say that pregnancy varies from one stage to another also. In my case, I had a frequent urination during my first trimester and just like you, I experienced constipation .
