nappy rash – what have you found works?

I have used sudocrem for nappy rash treatment and prevention and it worked well for my son. My daughter who is 6mths old I am also using sudocrem but it hasn’t worked. She only has a little bit of nappy rash but its always there. I have tried cornflour powder which also didn’t work. I am now using GAIA lotion which seems to be helping.

What have others used???

On my babies I used the Brauer Nappy Rash cream – tried other things but this was miraculous for my bubs! Lasts for ages and I’d very highly recommend it as a product that really works really quickly. It’s very soothing and very gentle.

My little boy got really bad nappy rash once, he only started getting it when we switched nappy brands. We started using the homebrand nappies when money was tight. I got him checked at the doctors who suggested i use a anti-fungal cream. So i would use that with baby powder over the top. Even still we couldnt get rid of the rash, so we switched back to ‘Babylove’ nappies and after acouple of days the rash was gone! Havent had any problems since and havent used homebrand nappies again. 🙂

I just used Vaseline every time my little one got out of the bath and she never had nappy rash, don’t get me wrong she did get a little red every now and then but I’ll just put a little extra Vaseline on and it’ll pretty much go away.

I use Sudocrem and have been using it since forever as a preventative and my daughter NEVER had any rashes. Sometimes when I stopped for a couple of days she’d have a bit of redness but nothing painful or even slightly irritating.. I don’t know what kind of chemicals are in it apart from zinc because it doesn’t say on the jar but I found that it works magic! I also used Akin bottom balm (I think) but it’s a bit pricey so I only use it when we go away since it’s in a tube and is a lot less messy than a big jar of Sudocrem…

I use Lucas’s paw paw ointment as a preventative nappy rash treatment. It’s especially important to apply for their last nappy change before bedtime as it provides a barrier between the urine/poo and your baby’s skin. I love using paw paw as opposed to other creams because its all natural! No nasty chemicals.

zinc and castor oil always worked on my babies butts, i think you can get it from the supermarket if not im sure the chemist will have it.

If it ever comes back I have found Brauer (pronounced brow-er) homeopathy nappy rash cream works wonders!!!! You can buy it at most pharmacies….

Mustela Stelivica Nappy Rash cream always works for my son. But like the other posters as long as he is cleaned up straight away and I use powder after every change (Curash or Little Innosence organic powder are my faves) then he is fine.

Hope it stays clear – nothing worse than seeing your little one in pain!
