My Little Man Just Got His first TWO teeth!!!!

My son Thorsten has reached his wonderful milestone of getting his first two teeth!

4 more are coming up and the poor little thing is having a hard time as they are all coming up at the same time

Because he is very sensitive children’s panadol, I only give it to him as a last resort and give him bonjela, teething rusks, or teething rings other times

can anyone suggest me anything else I could try?

He is also doing all the other milestones except walking on his own (he is now 10 months old!)

NOT BAD FOR A BABY WHO WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE CONCEIVED AFTER OVARIAN CANCER CLAIMED AN OVARY AND TWO PREVIOUS PREGNANCIES BEFOREHAND HEY!!!!!

He has also been recently cleared by doctors of having any real serious problems with brain cancer, as he has had several months of swollen lymph nodes ih his head for no apparent reason-which is a blessing!

on another note, does anyone else have the problem of dressing their baby/toddler!?

he is very lean because of his asian heritage, so he doesnt fill out size 0, yet he is very long/tall and can fit LENGTH wise into size 1 or those clothes for 18 month-old children

its making it a bit hard to buy clothes for him!

I thing teether is good option and kids also happy with it. Why do you want another option?

ps…i think the clothing sixes are all out of whack. Isaac was quite fat when he was younger then slmmed down heaps but was still rather stocky and pants were always loose around his waist. Each time he had to go up a size, length wise, they would be way too loose for him around the waist. Look out for drawstrings – though often they have fake decorative only draw strings. with summer coming he could prob live in onsies and playsuits so you dont need to worry about pants

The single ovary i feel is not an issue. My Mum was the same as you and had an ovary removed but went on to have another child and i had 3 children and then later found that i was born with only one ovary but God decided to give me 4 kidneys instead…lol

As far as the teething side of things is concerned My eldest didnt get her first tooth until she was over a year old and walking….proves we are all differant i guess.
There are teething rings that you can get that are filled with a liquid and the idea is that you put them in the fridge so the teether is cool against the gums. My girls had one of those and it seemed to help.

Wow – it really is amazing how different they all are. Isaac had 16 teeth by 13 months and got his 2 yr old molars at about 19/20 months.

I’m not much help when it comes to teething as i think isaac must have quite soft gums – teething never seemed to bother him. we were at mothers group when i though i saw white chicken pieces in his mouth, then they started bleeding and i realised his first molars had come through – he was only about 11 months at the time and that was the first i knew that he was even teething.

Tips other mothers in my mothersgroup have used are letting them have heaps of milk – that seems to sooth them – if they go off their food up their milk intake. you could peel a carrot and give it to him to gnaw on – if its nice and cold that soothes their gums. a lot of them used panadol, esp if their babies got fevers from teething so you may need to resort ot that if it gets really bad. The teething rusks are a massive winner. I liked the raffeties ones with banana otherwise just heaps of patiences and heaps of cuddles.

My son has a teething necklace and they are awesome! My sons never had any horrible nights at worst hes had a couple nights of being a bit sooky but i just gave him baby panadol and hewas fine also teething rusks are awesome they dont ease the pain but help the teeth to come through, hope this helps

Try putting a damp facewasher in the fridge and then let him chew on it – easy to chew and the cold numbs it a little.
BTW, I wouldn’t be at all concerned about him not walking alone yet – I have four children, three of them were over twelve months old before walking alone 😉
My sister also managed to have two children she was told she probably wouldn’t be able to have also – a massive ovarian cyst strangled one ovary and tube and damaged the other tube. Just goes to show that miracles do happen.

I remember this stage well when my kids were babies, I don’t really think there is much you can do when the teeth are coming through, they get grizzly, dribble and chew everything. Lots of loves and cuddles will not help but will not hurt either. I also started using a soft baby toothbrush on their gums and teeth…… Just remember it is a small stage they go through, it will get better……………………… ###Sandra

as already stated i’ve used teething rings! needing another option!

i dont know that there is much you can do other then to remember that it will be over rather quickly.
You could try Homeopathic powders….my friend tried them and said they didnt help her daughter as much as bonjela.
