I suffered morning sickness for the first 3 months of my pregnancy. It was so hard to try and keep it a secret from my work buddies! I was running to the loo all day long!!! My doctor prescribed maxalon and it seemed to work for me. It is ok to take during pregnancy in low doses. Also give soda water and dry toast ago. I hope that you feel better soon :)
Hopefully your morning sickness subsides soon jordymum. It's hard trying to cope with sickness when you have a little one to look after. I only got morning sickness for the first trimester and the cure that worked for me was getting some food into my stomach and drinking plenty of water. I never had to use ginger tablets but I've heard they can be effective.
I ate sao biscuits by the bucket load and toast with butter only and ice cold water or soda water. honestly the only thing that worked for me was peppermint and ginger tea (ice cold of course), burning peppermint oil in the oil burner and i cut up fresh ginger root into small pieces and took it like a tablet. that was the most effective for me.
I suffered from servere morning sickness all day for 7 of my 8 month pregnancy (premature baby) I had a midwife suggust to me that I should see a chiropractor. My doctor thought I might have gall stones but this was not the case. Once I saw a chiro all was good. Good luck.
The two things that really helped me were a cup of black tea before getting out of bed and sipping ginger beer (soft drink) during the day when feeling queazy.......... I had the worst morning sickness with my daughter right thru but not a day of morning sickness with my son.........
I had ginger nut biscuits and ginger beer that helped
suck on dried ginger before getting out of bed then sao biscuits .ginger any sort drink ect ,when feeling queazy thats what help me 20 years ago with all my kids .
isn't it just the pits? i can only imagine how much worse it is with another little one to look after! i was sick for most of the 9 months, the doc put me on maxalon which took the edge off, and i had to have it throughout labour on a drip too as i started hurling suddenly! in terms of natural remedies, i tried EVERYTHING... the only thing that worked was fizzy juice - any drink, just fizzy. the carbonate seems to be the thing. ginger fizz was good, also plain soda water, lemon fizz or fizzy water.
just realised it was june when jordymum started this thread - what news?!
ı ve heard about ginger drinks too so you should give that a try! ı was lucky cause ı never had mornıng sıckness when ı was preg but ı know frıends who had ıt for 9 months so good luck!!!
the best i've heard is as soon as you get up having crushed ginger before you eat or drink anything else before your body knows your even up.don't know how its possible.especially the ginger.i don't know if your meant to just gobble it down or drink it.have to ak my mom about it.will take some times she is on holiday. good luck.
Hi Jordymum, I used to carry around pieces of ginger so that I could eat one when I felt sick. It seemed to work pretty well for me. Good luck, it's not very nice, so I hope it will pass soon.:-)
My husband brought me a cup of tea and a gingernut biscuit in bed before I got up each morning. My midwife suggested glazed ginger but it just made me sick.
I looove gingernut bikkies and ate them alot when I was preggo, dunked in tea of course!! Its good isnt it Woo_Hoo, especially in the mornings!! I must admit I did carry around pieces of ginger and the sugared ginger from Bundaberg (the ones that make the ginger beer) Oh yeah I used to drink the ginger beer...perfect for an unsettled tummy. I wasnt vomitty in my pregnancy...just got bad nausea around 4pm in the arvo - the bus trip home wasnt the best for it either lol...i'd get off the bus and feel gaggy as I walked home from the bus stop!
I am a gingernut bickie fan too, we still get them sometimes and of course they have to be dunked in tea, lol. I love ginger beer, I did drink alot of it when I was pregnant too. I never got really any morning sickness as such but I often felt bloated and my worst problem was severe heartburn. Nothing seemed to help that at one stage I was flat out drinking water, and couldn't eat a thing, which is why I lost so much weight in the last trimester.
Abig glass of ice cold coke!!! best thing to give ya the extra boost in the morning!!
i was like that to. nothing would help me, including the doctors. i would just stop eating all the things that taste bad or hurt coming back up, like tomatoes and meat, it sucks but you just have to stick it out. and it is harder when you have other children or work to go to. so just eat things that have no taste and try to stay away from strong oders.
ahmen sista elaine !LOL
i hope by now jordymum is over it lol that would be one long bout of morning sickness lol.
this time round for me i couldnt stomach anything but the ice cold coke always done the trick to get rid of that horrible feelin
first of all congrats on your pregnacy. I am 11 weeks pregnant and was looking for at thread just like this one :) I have been drinking ginger ale & also lemonade. Blackmore asl so do a morning sickness tablet that i thought i would try. Dry biscuits are good to.
good luck and have a great pregnancy hopefully it will get better for both of us :)
I used to find a banana b4 getting out of bed helped!
jordymum I used to keep a packet of Arnott's Gingernut Bikkies in my bedstand, and before I even thought of sitting up in bed for the morning I would chomp down 1 of these and lay there for about another 10 minutes. I used to also take Nature's Organics Morning Sickness Vitamin's, these also contain ginger. I had morning sickness with all my 4 pregnancies for the whole 9 months and this was I only way I thought I was going to survive, LOL. I'm a big sook when it comes to being sick, LOL.
