Huggies Toilet Training Reward Chart Kit

Just wondering if any of the Mummies on bh have redeemed the toilet training kit from Huggies that includes a booklet on how to toilet train and also comes with a sticker reward chart.

Yeah might have to look into getting some pull ups, I just find they are quite pricey for the amount you get. But she has to stop using nappies one day so might as well just buy a few packs and get the rewards chart kit. As much as I would love to get her the Princess Potty Kit, no point if we are going to buy one of the seat/step toilet training things.

I got pullups and I tried just using undies to do the 3 day toilet training program but DD isnt interested she really doesnt like the potty or toilet it is just us forcing it on her too much and she kept on getting upset so we r giving it another break and try it time to time.

Sounds like a good idea, Lily is sometimes keen to use the toilet and other times not so keen too, it’s gonna take time.

This is coming from an ancient beauty who is a Grandmother so if you want to ignore it girls, that’s fine with me.
My advice, for what it’s worth – DON’T try to rush things, slowly, letting your young ones guide you and don’t forget, as a rule boys are much slower than girls in this area.
This is a totally personal thing but after they’ve been in their “grown up undies” and you’re going out where it could be difficult getting to a toilet in a hurry don’t feel like you’re sliding back if you let them wear a nappy to avoid the embarrassment (for them) if they have an accident.
You’re doing a great job, obviously girls. Have fun and enjoy this time.

Wise words, Trish 🙂 I actually kept my girls in pull-ups for as long as I could for the sheer convenience (a terrible reason, I know). It’s just that they’d always wanna go at the most inconvenient times.

Once, I was at a foodcourt & had just ushered everyone with precariously balanced trays to the table, when one of them squealed ‘I really need to go Mommy!’. Obviously, I couldn’t leave the other at the table, but what was I gonna do about all our food? Luckily, the cleaning lady was nice and offered to keep an eye on the food on the table. Sheesh…

LOL… yeah I didn’t either when I saw it, but decided then and there that Small HAS to manage nighttimes. So I got a couple on special. I was cursing because i had tried some ages before and of course no longer had the bags, even though the PUs were still around 😀

I had heard pull ups etc are hopeless for night training but I went to a new paed and he has similar aged kids and asked was I just using PUs for night for reassurance. Well no… he insists on a nappy or wets the bed. Drives me nuts. But he is being egged on by the training with Smaller I think so it is working REALLY well with the PUs at night for him now. YAY.
    So OVER nappies!

Just order the chart etc or do one of your own. They just love a stamp on the hand or a sticker at this age.
When Smaller does a wee, Small runs and checks and gives him a huge hug and says “Well DONE Bubi! I am SO proud of you!” Too cute… I don’t have to do a thing 😀

    Yes.
I got the Pull Ups one from Huggies that included the fancy shmancy deluxe seat kit. You get the same booklet and the sticket reward chart also. Did have to pay postage and have three Pullups barcodes, but it was a good price for what I got.

In fact I already had a good toilet seat the same style (with Thomas), which has handles and makes it really easy for the kids especially if it isn’t on the toilet.

The new kit, although it took forever to come, has excited Smaller no end however, and as Cars is his thing at the moment he instantly went for it. It has a potty with a lift out tray for emptying which makes life easy. On top of the potty base sits the padded handled toilet seat. Then there is a lid (with Lightening McQueen in all his glory). So they use the potty as is, then when they want to use the toilet you can move the seat onto the toilet, pop the lid back on the potty part, and it becomes a stepstool.
At the moment Small still uses the Thomas seat on the loo, and Smaller is happy with the Cars seat on the potty. Great because there are no fights at bathtime when they both want to go.

I got Cars undies for him as well, and of course the Cars pullups. SO overkill, but that’s cool. The girls option is the Disney Princesses from Huggies. Small was a bit of a mission and I had to push him a lot (he was starting Kindergarten for goodness sakes!), but Smaller is fine to give me the lead and he is about to turn 3 (girls usually are ready before boys).
Don’t stress about it, just wait for them to be able to know when they wee or poo, can tell you when they want to go, and can get their pants down. Disposable nappies ARE confusing for them, as the wetness gets drawn away and they just get bulk, so both my niece and Smaller at the moment call it poo when its bulk wee 🙂 Don’t worry about the poo… just focus on the wee. Some nappy free time so they get some wet wee experience is great. Then just take her to the potty regularly (before and after naps, bath and regular intervals). A few days of that and she should show some initiative herself if she is ready.
    Goodluck!

Thanks Mampha! Yes I did want to get her the potty kit from Huggies but we don’t have any Pull Ups so I have no barcodes for the redemption haha.

Thanks Trish, I definitely know that it’s best to wait until they are ready. It’s gonna take some time, I know, she got so excited when picking out undies today and wanted to try every pair on when we got home haha.

Oh thats great 🙂 Elliot is almost 20 months and we were hoping to at least get him to sit on the toilet or potty before he is 2, but he is still scared of sitting on it. He loves flushing the toilet though.
I think I may go and buy a pack of pull ups just for the sake of getting the barcode.

Thats a great idea going out for the day and making her feel special and accomplished.
