How do I stop him taking his nappy off?

Does anyone have any good ideas for distracting baies during nappy change and stopping them taking their nappies off. Mine is only 9 months and I know its going to get worse not better!

i used to duct tape my daughters nappy on as she learned the “”how to get a backwards nappy off””trick and it worked a treat just took longer to take off and put back on but she soon got out of that habbit thankgod and id sing to her and play with her while puting one on to distract her. i know duct tape seems harsh but seemed to work for me

My daughter likes to finger paint too carmsy —- eww – not a great way to wake up at all! So I can understand what you are going through. She is my youngest and I have been able to get through this stage with my others with a combination of the following: by stern speaking, undies/tights over the top of nappy, nappy on backwards and buying pull-ups. But this time none of these worked! So we put a single piece of masking tape all the way around for one week, on all her nappies. She kept trying to take them off but it was impossible for her. She stopped trying and we stopped using the masking tape and then all was good – no more `painting`. Now she just has nappies at night… soon no nappies and hopefully no more `painting` too!

Gross hey he was seven months old and he did it about 8 times i had to wake up real early and made sure as soon as he made a peep in the morning i was in his room before he had a chance to paint the walls. I had enough the morning i found him ( beware this is really gross) eating it. Ive got photos so lucky boy when mummy meets his girlfriends and brings out the photo album. Hope none of you experience this. Whatever kids do you still love em they are so precious.I GUESS BOYS WILL BE BOYS

that is a bit of a horror story carmsy! I made the mistake of once just leaving a nappy and a singlet on my daughter during summer. She ripped off the tabs and made a little puddle on the floorboards. The only way I can keep a nappy on my daughter is to ensure something is over the nappy like shorts or pants. I do have trouble trying to change my daughters nappy and she rolls and won`t stay still. I do the same as gem and give her a toy or something to keep her distracted.

Oh Carmsy – you are going to give me nightmares! What did you do? Thanks to all the other ideas – I`ll try them.

I had this problem with my darling son however it progressed into him waking up in the morning taking his own pooey nappie off and finger painting i just loved walking into his room in the morning and seeing a freshly painted bedroom

To stop babies taking nappies off, simply put the nappy on backwards. So the pull tags are at the back. My daughter started to put her hand down “”there”” during nappy changes so I give her a nappy to hold and she loves it and keeps her distracted!
    Good luck!

I`ve never really had a problem with my babies taking the nappies off, but I usually distract them by giving them a little toy to hold while changing their nappy, so they are focused on the toy and not what I`m doing.
