well do u use any nappy rash creams on his groin rash ? cradle cap is normal but you can rub olive oil on it every day , but be sure to rinse it off at bath time and re apply .. you dont need much .. this will help it to clear up or lift the cap off . i know u can get a wash from the chemist but he might be a little to young for it .
make sure ur drying behind his ears after his bath , apply some soothing moisturiser a natural one maybe , or even a dab of olive oil can be used !!!..sounds like his dry there .
it really seems like his just a bit sweaty under his neck , make sure to dry it softly after his bath and even apply some pure cornstarch there or curash baby powder / with cornstarch (already in it )
doesnt seem to serious at this stage , most likely uncomfortable for the lil guy tho !
if in doubt take him to the doc .. it will all clear up you get onto it ...
also try using sensitve baby bath wash soaps etc ..
what are you using on him at the moment joeline ? :)
Poor little guy. I have a son with extremely sensitive skin, alot of things can cause a reaction, possibly try changing his bath wash or soap or even your washing detergent all of these things can cause irritations. I have tried every cream under the sun and the best I think would just be a fungal cream (any brand the cheaper ones work just as well for me) as for the cradle cap my daughter still has it but I havn't bothered using oil on her head yet but it is slowly comming off itself. Good luck remember if it is to concerning take him to a doctor:)
ya use a sensitive bath gel and only use a very small amount, after dry him thoroughly, my bub loves being dried with the hair dryer, maybe also blowdry his hair so it dries quicker so it doesnt drip behid his ears. Then apply a rich but sensitive baby lotion. Use baby powder in his creases, i have a fatty to and this really helps. If it gets bad in patches use sudocream to calm it, if it doesnt go away its safer to bring him to the doc just incase. im presuming hes not on solids so it wouldnt be an allergy...unless...is he on breast milk or formula, if hes on formula he might need to change to a soy based milk.
Hi Joeline, he might have dermatitis. It sounds a bit like what my son had and a cream from the doctor fixed it. The rash in his groin and under his neck might be due to moisture and like emms23 said, a bit of curash powder should help. You need to dust it really lightly though or it balls up and traps the moisture which makes things worse. If you are worried about it maybe get a doctor to check it out. good luck. xx
Thanks guys. I was using Curash Nappy Rash Cream which stopped the rash spreading but it still looks tender and red, so I am currently using Sudocrem to see how it goes. Im also using Curash Anti-rash baby powder for under his neck and creases in his legs. The blotchy rash is now going onto his face... so going to community nurse to see what she recommends as well.
Definately I find the sudocream was ok, but the anti fungal cleared it up overnight, keep us posted with your findings :)
there is also a cream , i cnt think of the name ... but it has a small amount of a steriod cream in it .. and that works wonders on tough rashes . u can get it from the chemist .
The cream I used was a cortisone cream- it just had a small amount in it. If you get it as a prescription cream it is cheaper apparently. Sudocream is a great nappy rash cream too- I find it is the best even though it is a bit dearer than some of the others. I hope you find something that works for your little one. xx
thats the cream hooha ! :)
The one I got when my son had it really bad was Derm-Aid .5% I think it is a cortisone cream as well.
did that help mel ?
it sounds like eczema or dermatitis. my bubby got eczema really badly on his face and as it cleared up in his groin. The only thing that actually helped heal to my suprise was Bepanthen. you should take him to the gp to be sure though.
Yes the Derm Aid did work very well but as P75 mentioned you will need to go to a doctor to get a script for that I think.
I can highly recommend Arbonne ABC baby products natural I use the baby wash and nappy rash cream for my two ... and I have never looked back.
sounds like it's a rash from skin being damp, make sure to throroughly dry all the creases, behind ears, in neck etc and then dust on some cornstarch powder with some lavender.
