Baby Hamper

Hey Beautiful Mummies

I need your assistance 🙂

So my fiance and I have been given the wonderful title of God Parents for our friends little girl who is to be born in May.

Now apart from a baby shower gift and allllllllll the things we need to buy for the christening in accordance to greek orthodox traditions I am trying to put together a hamper for her (first child) to give to her once she comes out of hospital, so far I have bought her a few clothes baby to 3-6 months old, bibs, a small hoodie from their favourite soccer team and sleep sack…I am also going to get her a baby album so they can put all their photos in there.

now I don’t know what else to get, what did you think she would need or want, what did you guys want or need?

any help would be appreciated! 😀

I’m 13 weeks along, last baby I had was 10 years ago and I had thrown out ALL my baby stuff thinking I wasn’t going to have another one. Somehow hubby managed to convince me. Anyhoo, starting all over again and also trying to remember what I used and needed.

Chuck cloths are brilliant. Although cloth nappies worked great as chuck cloths for my first child, I found that you still got a wet shoulder. My mother-in-law found some before my second baby was due that moulded around your neck, were absorbent but didn’t leave you with a wet shoulder.
Can never have too many baby wipes or dribble cloths.
Dummies and bottles are great too, but because babies have different preferences for teats, there were some dummies and bottle teats I just couldn’t use with my babies. One of my kids preferred the more natural teats, and the other child preferred the orthodontic ones.
I love the idea of something to pamper mum. That’s a lovely idea.
Baby powder, nappy rash cream and disposable nappies are always needed (unless they’re using washable nappies).
There are baby pamper products too, like natural shampoo and bath care products, and soft baby towels.
Enjoy being a God Parent! Good luck 😀

    What lovely news, Seezora! Congratulations!!!

I’ve always been more interested in giving the new Mum something special, often something lovely she’d think too extravagant to buy herself. I also think it’s pretty important to include existing children with something small but appropriate so they don’t feel left out.

Congratulations to all the new Mums, Mums-to-be, Godparents, Grandparents and everyone one else involved – that includes the Dads.

If you are planning to buy baby stuffs, I suggest that you should go for an online shopping. You can compare the price of a certain product from one store to another. Aside from that, you don’t need to shop physically from one store to another which is painful and tiring.

There are lots of items that a baby really needs. One of the items that my baby is using is bather. It really needs most since he should be cleaned every day to erase irritation from his skin. 🙂

burp cloths are useful. Target and kmart have cloth nappies that can also be used as burp cloths.
Muslim wraps – you can get cute 3 packs at coles.

I have a 4 month old, and I remember getting a beautiful gift from The Body Shop that had loofah, body lotion, hand cream etc. It was a beautiful gift because often the new mother is forgotten in the excitement of the baby. New mothers receive boxes and boxes of baby clothes and toys as presents, a lot don’t even get worn or used which is sad.

Pooplosion – also known as a number 3. You know the one that goes up their neck and down their legs…..

Put your hand up if you are guilty of throwing away the gro-suit and singlet cos you really just couldn’t be bothered washing it…..

You did take your baby out of the suit first, Rose? LOL. Gosh, I don’t miss that part of babies! 🙂

My hand is up! After 4 kids I’ve had more than my fair share of pooplosions!

I forgot to add that I also include a not so practical gift, more a momento for mum. Lately it’s been a plaster cast foot print kit. Having a baby is a momentous occasion, and you forget how small they are!
