Advice On Must Have Baby Products!

Hi Beauties,

My husband and i are expecting our first baby this year! And i know there are so many products on the market – i am overwhelmed with where to start!

I know Johnson & Johnson is a baby must have, but i was just wondering – what products other mums out there loved and swore by… and what should i be stocking up on!!

Also, although it’s not beauty related, we’re due in December (very close to christmas!) -so any tips on what clothes we should be buying in bulk for a summer baby! We’re hoping to not find out the sex…. so i’m thinking, there’s only so many white singlets i can buy!

Thanks for your help beauties! xo

FYI, I have ended up purchasing Moogoo sunscreen (for adults and children) and really like it!! It is gentle, rubs in clear and it does not feel oily or greasy after it has absorbed. Highly recommend it.

Congrats, TeeBee! I recently discovered a pretty amazing baby product that I received in an Adore Beauty goody bag. I wasn’t overly excited by the look of it, but as soon as I tried it on my baby, I realised it’s a game changer. Babies often get all types of skin conditions like eczema, newborn acne, cradle cap, etc. My baby had a bit of eczema AND cradle cap happening around the time her LaVanila Body Butter ran out, so I tried the other cream. By the next day the spots, redness and scaly skin around her ears was completely clear. I cannot recommend it enough! It’s Little Innoscents Intensive Soothing Cream. It’s about $10.95 for 75ml, organic, Aussie made and it WORKS! I use it on my baby every night and her skin is so soft, clear and beautiful.

There’s so many other products out there and most of them are pretty good so I think it’s just a matter of finding what you like and what suits your needs, but this one product is, in my opinion, a must-have.

EDIT: Haha! I just realised TeeBee has a 5 year old by now! Oh well. Maybe another expectant mama might find the rest of my comment useful.

A question for those who have used GAIA – I am wondering if I need to rinse after using thr bath gel in the bath? Theres no instruction on the bottle. I noticed some other brands need rinsing (e.g. Sukin, Baby U) whereas some doesn’t require rinsing (e.g. Curash, QV bath oil).

    TIA!

My son is soon to be 30 but when he was little I always washed his hair with J&J baby shampoo and he suffered terrible ear infections for many months on end. He got so bad that he had to have a hearing test done as he couldn’t hear very well.

No one had any answers on why it was happening. I decided to stop J&J baby shampoo and he never suffered ear infections again.

Skincare junkie, I’m sure you’re aware but just in case, check that none of the items you’re considering have an alcohol content – I can’t believe baby products are made including alcohol but some are.

Johnson and Johnson used to be wonderful – almost 50 years ago but somewhere along the line things changed.

Thank you both! Seems like Gaia is a good starting point! And i will check out both Klim and wotnot :))

Gaia and WotNot were my two favs. DermaVeen is good too. It is a bit trial and error. Nappy wise I found Huggies to be the best and purchased in bulk when on special 🙂

I am bumping this up as I am looking for baby products. From a quick look in priceline it seems that the good options are:
    -Aveeno babies
    -GAIA
    -Thank you

Has anyone used more than one of these brands before?

I have also heard that from 0 to 6 months I shouldnt use any product except coconut oil. Has anyone tried this?
