What to do with Hotel Shampoo

Since creating this link: https://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/talkback/what-do-you-do-with-beauty-products-you-dont-like?page=4#comment-4050311
I have read what to do with Shampoos you don’t like or Hotel Shampoo (does anyone like this????). You use it to clean the soap scum from your Shower.

I’ve been trying this for a few days on my tiles and it seems to work. Not much success on my Shower Screen but I think this is because it’s decades old.
Have you tried this?

Am1851 – I do love your idea of having some in my handbag especially during the corona virus as well as going to the Ladies to find the hand wash has not be topped up.

I have read you can use Conditioner as a fabric softener however I have not tried this myself.

Since I am ‘homeless’ at the moment and had to clear out so many years of accumulated stuff one of the items I found a collection of in hidden corners was some hotel shampoo. Well in today’s environment the small bottles are handy to have in your handbag and can be used as hand soap if you are out anywhere and need to wash hands. Yes, we NEED TO WASH HANDS!

Currently I am enjoying luxury in Novotel, in a suite on 8th floor, overlooking the ocean, an even better view than I had at home with a huge round bath almost like a mini pool. Sadly I am still exhausted from all the packing and not had time to relax.

Back to the subject of hotel shampoos, I am accumulating some more, but now just using what I need to and not stock piling. Learnt that I just don’t use them all up. They are also great for using as a bubble bath. I haven’t thought what to do with the conditioners though. Maybe someone has an idea how to use those efficiently?

I did think of using the conditioner as a fabric softener but didn`t want to try it in case it ruined my clothes. It can be used on a pet (dog) but I don`t have any pets.

Perhaps try it on something small like undies or a hankie.

I save all of my hotel toiletries up & give them to a lady at my Mum’s work who can’t always afford beauty items, along with anything else in my stash that I don’t want or don’t wish to pass on to BH members at meet-ups.

This is a nice idea. Maybe some of the overnight accommodations for the homeless might be grateful to receive as well. I know there are a few around Sydney and most likely other major cities too. Even the smaller ‘cities’ have these as well, otherwise even the charity shops might take something like this.

Again, there may be some ‘health’ issues as they cannot guarantee the safety of the product as there are some crazies out there too who actually tamper with stuff in the most horrible way.

Very welcome dandyliondaisy, thank you for supporting the campaign, Share the Dignity do such amazing and sadly necessary work.

    That’s hilarious and very inventive.

I was going to say I keep my hotel toiletries for Share the Dignity’s #itsinthebag campaign donations and would welcome donations from others in Melbourne, but it seems like yours are not going to waste.

If anyone in Melbourne does have contributions and not enough to make up their own bags, please do let me know and I will organise to collect from you in Oct–Nov.

This is a lovely idea MerryGoRound!
I`m not in Melbourne but I will have to keep an eye out for something similar in Adelaide.

As for using hotel Shampoo for removing soap scum LOL I mostly use it as a body wash but your idea is way better!
