It's okay if there's nothing, lol... feel free just to rant
Me too 2663anne and it’s easy to keep up to date with barely a page a day to read.
Getting a good laugh out of BIP and it’s not to be taken seriously - think I need mindless tv to chill out in the evening.
Roger all of that hon. :o)
Completely understand your feelings regarding COVID. I managed quite well during the first lockdown, but the ongoing threat of a potential 2nd lockdown for greater Sydney + all the uncertainty surrounding the immediate future is weighing on me fairly heavily, not to mention that I'd like to be able to leave my house & have a day out without a care in the world (instead of fearing every mofo out there who won't distance themselves properly).
Oprah-style socially distanced hugs to you.
Me too, sometimes it's just too slow loading a page so I give up and leave. Their are'nt any trial team forum threads either which makes it a bit dull (:
I’m so worried that Beautyheaven will get shut down. The lack of activity and huge increase in spam makes me really worried. OMG I hope I’m wrong.
I was thinking it too. Maybe the forums will go? Or it’s because the BH staff are doing the BC work as well as their own (especially if BC staff have been let go)and the spam is low on their priorities?
I suggest keep contributing. A couple of things could happen.... they may make BH and BC a limited membership, and only those who contribute will be one of the select few. Or if the new owners are considering changes, by showing how popular something is they would hopefully revise their decision.
I just saw that Baeur Media has stopping making 8 magazines.
Thanks Lisa359 that’s not good news even tho I’m not an avid magazine reader, it’s sad to see them go.
NW, OK!, Harper's Bazaar, Elle,
InStyle, Men’s Health, Women’s Health and Good Health
I was just reading about that on the internet, used to have a subscription to Women's Health, it was a good magazine. Bit worried about the BH site, hope it doesn't fold. Maybe I should have used all my points in the last rewards room, I didn't get anything this time round. Feel the quality of the site has deteriorated lately.
The slowness does make it a bit of a pain to comment. And for some reason my work computer (but not usually my ipad) keeps logging me out and returning me to an old forum page, it's not a biggie (just annoying) but add this to the slow loading and it begins to become more effort than it's worth. But I shall make more effort!!
It’s so random lindylou as right now, it’s going great! But mostly takes so long to load.
I am feeling sad that BH has changed so much it is painfully slow to read or post and I just give up with commenting and the spam is horrendous !!
I am grateful that I did get to experience the "Good Old Days" where there was such interesting posts and trials and the competitions were drawn regularly - it was exciting and I felt a valued member of the community.
Lets keep everything crossed that BH although changing metamorphosis into an amazing place to be Xx
I remember the days when I refreshed the forum every few minutes and would see new comments :) I still love this community.
Still love this community too. I've learnt so much from this site over the last 7 years, not to mention met a whole bunch of awesome ladies along the way who have made this little loner hermit crab feel welcome. It would be an absolute crying shame if BH were to fold somehow, however I am crossing my fingers & my toes that this won't eventuate.
Thinking of the almost 9 years I’ve been a member of this wonderful community and especially in the last 6 years - the friendship and support I’ve seen and experienced on the forums and in real life - there’d be none of that without Bh. .
I know it’s been quiet on here - it’s quieter everywhere.
Hang in there Seashells and everyone else (self included) it’s taking time but we will get through this and with a greater appreciation of all we take for granted.
Me too Seashells. I can’t remember when I first joined. I was absent for a while for various reasons but I’ll never forget the wonderful warm welcome I received when I returned. I’ve learnt so much here, met some wonderful people, and even managed to win some awesome prizes along the way. I’ll be absolutely devastated if Beautyheaven folds.
Unfriendly and unhappy shop assistants, they seem to be everywhere and it's usually younger women who are the worst. Two young women working at subway today looked like they were at a funeral, one of them had massive botoxed lips so maybe she couldn't smile? .
I know working at Priceline or Subway might not be your dream job, but do they have to look so dour and sad?
I hear you Lisa359 - I experienced the same "customer service" from Priceline the other day. Young girl behind the counter with a LOT of makeup on looking like she wanted to be anywhere else but there, no exchange just a grunt and had the audacity to look me up and down with a sneer - probably thinking "look at that old hag" - haha! Never felt so old in my life. Felt like complaining but couldn't be bothered.
There’s an older woman sales assistant at a Priceline near us, and OMG she’s so grumpy. Everything seems like it’s too much effort. She’s not at all friendly. She’s been there for ages. I can imagine that customers would be rude and hard to deal with sometimes, but there’s no need to be like this.
With all the Covid changes the queue in a local Priceline was in a different place, I just walked to the usual place (thinking yippee no queue) as I couldn't see the new location from that aisle. As I moved to be next served I saw the correct queue so joined that, the checkout woman (older) didn't say anything to me but before I could move she gave me the dirtiest look! Priceline asked for my feedback on my visit so I told them!!! Haven't heard anything further.
I'm glad you got to give them your feedback lindylou with all that's going on at the moment you would think they would be happy to just have a job.
janefre I look at all that make-up and think "if you wear this much to work then what do you look like when you go out for a night on the town?"
2 things annoying me atm:
My usual sunscreen (the Sunsense Sensitive Invisible stuff) is starting to cause small whitehead pimples on my face. I've already had to ditch the Invisible Zinc Sheer Defence Facial Moisturiser for the exact same thing (although that really broke me out badly - you'll see that product in my next empties); now I'm afraid I might have to do it with this too. I really don't know why my skin changes like this every couple of years but it's rather annoying, especially since I just bought a small tube of the stuff for my handbag.
Finding out the hard & somewhat expensive way that reusable face masks irritate my sensitive skin. Have just recently purchased several reusable face masks (3 for my folks & I that were expensive, 2 for myself that weren't as exxy) that all come with inserts for filters & both the expensive & non-expensive masks feel scratchy & irritating against my chin & mouth. I wish I'd done my research first to see whether or not they would work for me as now I'm stuck with them & can't return them. (Also, one of the expensive ones is being replaced as it broke on me yesterday, after only 2 uses. It was meant to be my Dad's mask but it doesn't fit him, so I took it for myself. His face doesn't fit the cheaper ones either.) And here I was believing I was doing some good for the environment....oh well. :o(
Have a look at the Strandbags face masks, I have some and they are so soft and they have the metal in the nose for a snug fit. I think it was $16.95 for a 2 pack.
Didn't know Strandbags were doing face masks, thanks for the tip Anne! Have had a look at their website & they're sold out unfortunately. I think I might've come up with some sort of solution regarding the face masks I already have, so I'll see if that works first. (Have just discovered that one of my cheaper masks is actually too small now that I've washed it. Not overly bothered by that tbh.)
I didn't know they were in Strand Bags either. There is one a my local shopping centre. Some StrandBags which are located in Westfields have closed due to an issue with paying rent or their lease. I bought some disposable masks online from chemist warehouse and have also bought a cloth one online. Live in Qld so haven't been using them yet but thought I'd buy some just in case. Cotton On, Bonds and Kathmandu have reusable face masks as well.
Looked at both Cotton On & Bonds initially, but by the time I went to buy from either site they'd all sold out online. Cotton On have restocked some of them, but now I cba buying them unless I know they're suitable for my fussy skin.
Now Lovisa are doing face masks too, but unfortunately most of them are only double layered, not triple layered (which, according to an ABC article I read, is something we all need to look for). They're also mostly doing disposable face masks with patterns etc on them, which is a little disappointing (although some of the patterns look good).
Despite having sensitive skin a toner is something I always include in my skincare routine, I do need a gentle one though.
The Remescar Instant Wrinkle Correction comes in a small box and when you open it up it is in a white tube, sitting in a velvety holder. I was very excited about trying this product.
Thanks Beauty Heaven Team for this trial.
I am using Sunsense Moisturising Face SPF50+ in the morning after face cleansing.
