It's okay if there's nothing, lol... feel free just to rant
my kids, argh!
I've been stuck at home with both kids for going on 4 week now whilst working from full time.
I love my kids, but F******** they're doing my head in hahaha
It always rains for Easter, so much for my morning walk. Had a lot of rain last night and this morning. Guess I could go out and take an umbrella. At least it should be good for the Corona Virus, hopefully there will be less people outside, not much else to do on Good Friday except stay indoors and watch tv.
We used to pack up and go camping over Easter. We always enjoyed it, but times change. Now our Easter usually involves a few day trips, and an at home BBQ with the family. This year it will be a couch trip and my usual daily walk with the dog.
Hubby isn’t game to drive out of this area to get fish n chips and sit in the car and eat them, or walk the dog along the path at the beach (suburb in question is about 20 mins away) because it’s just so bloody unclear as to whether we can or whether we can’t. So we just won’t.
Customers getting violent and threatening to (or actually) coughing on us retail workers. We don't get paid any extra to be working during these times and yet, lazy ferals with 10 kids, get extra money from Centrelink to come in and abuse us.
Oh and then you get the morons that come in and touch everything with the same hands they just coughed or sneezed into!
Can't wait for this virus to be over!
That’s absolutely disgraceful Lawliet. Totally unacceptable. Surely where you work has multiple security guards wandering around out the front?
There’s probably half dozen or so out the front of the Coles we usually go to. Don’t hesitate to call on them if you need to. These kind of people truly are disgusting aren’t they.
Hang in there. Sending you (((hugs))) xxx
God some people are the worst. I feel like most are trying but there are just some that you can't look passed. Thanks for going to work each day and providing such an essential service. My local woolies workers have been so lovely. All retail workers deserve respect and a safe work environment
Thanks for the uplifting words Rose, Nicoler and Okatko!!
Unfortunately we only have one security guard who stands by the front of the store, tracking the amount of people that enter.
It's true though, most people are great. There's just the odd few that have turned into wild animals!
It's strange... in times like these, you really get to see peoples true colours.
Hope you are all staying safe (and staying sane lol) xox
Who raises their children to act like cavepeople?
They should be asked to leave and banned from entering the store again.
What I have noticed in supermarkets and Target BigW and Kmart is the age range of all the SA’s. There is hardly anyone there working over the age of 50.
Time for a bit of a rant.
3 things I'm annoyed by right now:
My lips are chucking their annual winter-is-coming hissy fit, causing me to stop using Lanolips for the time being (since it stops working & starts irritating my lips for some reason) & lean back into using Carmex & paw paw ointment (it's not that Lucas crap, don't worry...I get the better stuff ;o)). Right now I'm also dealing with painful ulcers on the inside of my lips + the right hand corner of my lips is cracked too. Yay me.
I'm waiting on a pair of ugg boots to arrive & it's all Australia Post's fault. I ordered these nearly 2 weeks ago from Victoria, the company said there would be a delay in processing the order, fair enough. The order was sent out last Wednesday & since then, radio silence. I keep checking the tracking number every single day (sometimes twice a day) to see if there's been updates, nada, zilch, zip. My order was meant to arrive yesterday at the latest, now there's been a delay. I know Aus Post are experiencing a lot of delays atm due to the-virus-that-shall-not-be-named & everyone turning to online shopping; but I can't help but feel rather impatient, antsy & even a little uneasy about it (whilst realising how ridiculous & self-entitled I sound at the same time).
Speaking of the virus....I'm peed off with one set of neighbours right now. (These ones are at the back of me & have a stupid French bulldog that barks constantly whenever it's out the back, which can go on for hours. We've had an unpleasant dealing with them before.)
Because they believe they're special snowflakes who can bypass the current social distancing laws, they decided to have a little shindig last night, didn't they. There were about 6-8 people there (according to my Dad) & I'm damn sure that not all of them belong to that household (the house isn't big enough, for starters). Honestly, I had thoughts about dobbing them in (also wished I had a drone so I could go & record the evidence), but thought better as the last time we threatened to dob them in, they sort of threatened us back.
I know this sounds really mean & bad juju on my part, but I hope they all get the-virus-that-shall-not-be-named & get it severely. Might teach them a lesson then.
Oh dear Seashells I feel your pain. I’ve got a mouth full of ulcers at the moment and it’s just agony. My lips are dry and painful too. I usually use Lanolips but it’s not working for me. Paw paw is best when this happens. I usually buy the Lucas brand. Which one do you use?
We are waiting on a few parcels too. I guess they’ll turn up eventually. This whole virus thing just sucks doesn’t it. Is the world ever going to be the same ever again? It’s scary isn’t it.
We’ve got a bloody painful Sausage Dog who lives behind us and it just doesn’t stop yapping. Never ending. Doesn’t stop for breath. He was outside all day and driving me totally insane. I put several letters in their letterbox and thankfully they have since put him inside during the day while they are at work, but they let him out once they get home and he’s off again. Surely he must drive them nuts. We end up having to shut our door. Sometimes he can go on and on for several hours. Painful. We’ve approached our local council for advice but they aren’t helpful at all. So if he gets really bad I just put another few notes in their letterbox and it seems to fix the problem for a while. I’m at point of needing to do that now.
One thing I’m VERY happy about.......across the road there’s a house occupied by a group of young guys. One of them has a stupid dog that they let roam around out the front, and it likes to come rushing at you snapping and snarling when you walk past. They have parties in their garage. They had one on Saturday night, and there’s no freaking way all those people were from their household. BUT........there’s a big FOR LEASE sign on the house, and they are MOVING OUT! Yippppppeeeeeee! Good bye and good riddance!
I use the Natralus paw paw ointment. It seems to work, especially when I get cracks in the corners of my mouth (which I'm prone to - it's a hereditary thing though).
As far as the parcel goes, I've filed a missing items claim with Australia Post just in case. I could've waited until after Monday to do it (since they usually advise people that items can show up within 3 business days of their due date), but f*** it, I'm not in the mood to be messed with right now. ;o)
I’ll keep the Natralus in mind for next time. I’ve never heard of the brand. I’ve always just reached for the Lucas red tube because I’ve been using it forever.
I was only just reading on news that Aus Post and Couriers are absolutely flat out due to everyone shopping online. Plus they had Easter in amongst there as well. Hubby got his parcel that he was waiting for thank goodness. Hopefully yours will turn up soon.
For your lips, if they are really bad, perhaps try Bepanthen. It’s baby nappy rash cream, but apparently it works wonders. I’ve seen it mentioned here quite a few times, and I’m pretty sure that Ruby (the new BH girl) said she uses it for her lips.
Some good news at last: my parcel is due to be delivered today YAAAAAAAY. Got a text this morning informing me of it, then an email about 2 hours later. It should be delivered sometime within the next hour or so....I only know this as that's when our local delivery guy usually delivers parcels.
More good news: my lips have calmed down for the time being. The inside lip ulcers have also disappeared too. I'm not game enough to go back to Lanolips just yet in case I flare up again, but I'm happy that the combo of Carmex + my Natralus paw paw ointment has kicked them to the curb.
Yay @ your parcel!
Believe it or not, one of ours was actually delivered yesterday! It was something that hubby had ordered from Amazon.
My mouth ulcers seem to be making a reappearance for round three now. They are along the edge of my lips, and very painful. I’ve got them inside my mouth too, and on my tongue. Ouch! The Ulcerative Colitis is flaring so that’s most likely why. I was struggling to clean my teeth, so I bought a Colgate baby toothbrush (0-2 years) and not only is it very cute, but it is very gentle and just perfect.
I don't order a lot online but ordered a couple of things from Myer and Priceline the last few weeks and was surprised how quickly they were delivered. Especially Myer. Adore Beauty are usually pretty quick with their delivery too.
Am trying to figure out what else I want to buy online before I go back to work in the office. So convenient working from home and having things delivered when I'm home as opposed to never being at home which is usually the case and having to find the time to go to the post office to pick up parcels.
I think things have got a little better with the postage since my OP. I ordered some polishes online from Picture Polish up in Queensland just recently & they took close to a week to come through. I have ordered from them before, but can't remember how long postage took pre-COVID tbh. I also ordered from Mecca during lockdown & that parcel arrived surprisingly quickly. I think it depends on what methods they use & whether it's express or standard shipping.
I posted a birthday card to a friend in Victoria, I live in Qld, it took a week to reach her, guess that may also have something to do with Aust Post not delivering ordinary mail every day now and only delivering every second day.
I live in Qld where there were 2 active cases of Covid 19 the other day. Went shopping yesterday and noticed Coles, not sure about Woolies had a 1 limit per pack of toilet paper. Thought these limits had only applied in Victoria again, obviously not. The toilet paper aisle in Woolies was looking a little empty. I saw a woman walking out to her car with a trolley full of toilet paper don't know where she bought it from.
Hope this isn't going to be more panic buying mark 2. Did no one learn anything first time round. No need to run out and strip the supermarket shelves bare (again).
Apparently not Hayley644 as it’s happening here in NSW. My daughter said WW at Mortlake (Sydney) was totally empty yesterday!
I was at my local WW yesterday morning and straight away noticed shoppers with a big pack in their trolley but shelves were still 2/3 full and it was the same early this morning but hubby said it was empty late yesterday arvo so must have restocked last night.
And NO I didn’t buy any - I refuse to engage in this ridiculous panic buying for no reason.
Im in QLD also Hayley644 Ive been to both Coles and Woolworths this week and there was no limits for us at either location. Im well stocked with TP since Coles had the Quilton 36 pack on sale this past week and I always buy one when its super cheap. Plus I was down to 3 rolls and I have my youngest coming down from Far North QLD for the school holidays. She is arriving on Tuesday which means I will be doing the long drive to Brisbane to pick her up and then again to drop her off when she flies home BUT thankfully in the future I wont have to worry as Alliance Airlines will be doing direct flights to our local airport from Cairns. They will start in a months time.
Restrictions have been placed on all online orders in WA and I thought we were doing ok :/
This BH website, anyone still having issues with it. I have been for months, super slow. Just got the NBN the other day and thought this site might have improved, sadly not the case.
No, it's slow for me too. At first I thought it might've been due to my old laptop; now that I have a new one, I can see that it's the site itself that's the problem. I think that might be the reason why the site has been quiet the last few months too.
I’m finding it slow too. Sometimes it’s so slow that I just close the page and try again later. Sadly I think you could be right Seashells. It’s probably why it’s been quiet lately. I really hope they can fix this issue. We had such an awesome community here, and it would be a shame to lose it. I really miss it.
I’m having trouble with the site being slow and I can’t seem to reply to people or comment so I seem to just lurk. Hoping this one works so will post a lot of replies to you here Sea.
I feel the same way about COVID, I’m pretty much off all social media now. I have a lot of personal stresses at the moment and I don’t need the extra. I’m staying isolated and safe so I’ll live in my little disinfected bubble.
Loving BIP so far, like you can’t stand the same people and interested to see who comes in.
I’m hoping with the merge of BC & BH soon things will improve site wise, in the meantime keep posting guys! I might not be able to comment often but I’m reading it all :)
I've used this product a lot, it goes on very easily, is a good moisturiser as well as a tanning product, the smell is ok, it is easy to get out of the container.
I bought this from Chemist Warehouse for $20 after my Clarisonic stopped charging. I’m delighted with this new Olay Regenerist brush.
Olay Retinol 24 Night Eye Cream comes in a silver box and like the serum, the eye cream comes in a small purple glass container with a silver lid.
