It's okay if there's nothing, lol... feel free just to rant
Yep! I can absolutely and definitely relate to that. I will read the same line over and over and think....what the.....
Okay so yesterday I got totally annoyed by the home line ringing all day and just saying Private number and a recorded message saying This is Nicole...your NBN internet and home line will be cut off and you will have no connection unless you push 1 on your telephone and talk to our technician. Yeah right. Had these calls before and we just hang up.
I must have had about 10 phone calls from them yesterday and it was annoying as everytime it said Private Number, it could have been the hospital trying to ring too.
It bugs me big time as they are very threatening like and someone will fall into their hands without thinking.
Then I also got a message from a Charity wanting to buy raffle tickets. By this time I had had enough and just said husband is in hospital and not a good time financially. She replied with oh sorry for that and hung up. I must remember that excuse all the time now :-) They leave you alone for a while.
Ggggrrrrrrrrrrrr don’t they drive you MAD!!!
We haven’t got a home line. I rarely, if ever get scam calls on my mobile, but hubby was getting them from a (07) number a couple of months ago. He was getting several calls a day. But then thankfully it stopped.
As for my mum and dad....blimey! Their phones just do not stop! I’d say they’ve signed up for something somewhere, and their numbers have been on-sold. Bloody rude! Drives you insane doesn’t it.
I don't get any scam calls on my mobile but then I only use it for ringing and text messages. I don't use it like a computer.
Thank goodness they aren't ringing and hounding me today.
I prefer when they have someone talking at the end of the line and I can say things right back at them. They then hang up on me before I have finished :-P
jatz, how unfortunate you have to deal with that, especially with what's going on with your husband. It's a real invasion of your personal space. Hoping Mr. jatz is ok.
Thankfully no phone calls today. It's very quiet here. Oh except all the text messages from hubby on what is happening with him today. He said, gee it's hard to have a sleep in the hospital, always coming in taking temps, blood pressure, and other things. I said, welcome to the world of being in hospital. It's all new to him.
So annoying, Jatz! We don't use a landline any more, but I used to get so frustrated by nuisance telemarketers, especially after being on the Do Not Call register.
So annnoying!!! I get them on my mobile but I can block them on that.........they still try on other numbers! I do a check on the number and it always comes up scam :(
I don't have a landline anymore but even so I have occasionally had unwanted calls on my mobile. I generally don't answer anyway unless I know the number, so if they don't leave a voicemail I don't bother investigating. That said when that whole Chinese spam call fiasco was happening last year I still got voicemails even if I rejected the call. Had to put them all on block.
It is kind of sad that home phones are dying out though. Thankfully a lot of our friends and family still have home phones hence why we still have ours :-) I guess the day will come when we get rid of it.
Pollen and sweat allergies giving me rash and lots in summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My cat is really annoying me! He is so needy lately. I don't know if it's because he's getting older, we moved house but it was 6 months ago, He used to wander off in the mornings and do his own thing but now he hangs around. He keeps rubbing up against me when I'm doing yoga, walking underneath me or sitting at the end of the mat. He's just so annoying!
My cat can be like that too sometimes, Lisa, I now work out in my room with the door shut, lol
Gifting occasions for my husband annoy me SO much! He acts like he’s not picky, but he is EXTREMELY picky and really hard to shop for because he has a hobby (golf), but he is so specific about what he wants that I don’t dare attempt to buy for him unless I know exactly what he wants, but then where’s the surprise in that?
But I think I’ve had a win this Father’s Day. I’ve asked him for a few ideas. He said he’d like clothes and some new golf gloves and sun sleeves. He sent me a link to the golf items and they actually had a sale over the weekend, which was extended through yesterday.
I’d already ordered the golf stuff and it was delivered Monday (as well as some polo shirts I got last week), but I want him to be surprised so I keep saying, “Oh no! How long is that sale on? I need to get online and see if those things are still in stock.” Last night he was like, “You better order tonight!” And now that we’re running out of time for delivery, I think he’s getting even more perturbed. My teenage daughter and I are having a lot of fun watching him squirm because that means he’s actually going to be surprised so tonight at dinner we’re going to drop another hint about overnight shipping at such late notice. “Oh goodness! I know the sale is over so it’s going to cost more, but I’ve just been so busy I forgot. Do you think if we order now we can get it overnight?”
I normally wouldn’t like to be the cause of anyone’s distress, but given he has been so difficult to shop for all these years, I think it’s time it caught up with him. :)
What is it with Men and their golf? Gosh, my husband is a golf fanatic. Always suggesting for Birthday/Christmas/Father's Day/Easter that I can buy him the golf sleeves/gloves. There was one Christmas he hinted for a few new golf clubs. Obviously he would have to pick them….I have no idea when it comes to golfing products.
Loved your story of stirring hubby Lucrecia :-) you have just made my day.
Men and their golf......haha! Hubby and eldest son just LOVE their golf. Boring zzzzzzz
jatz, I’m glad you enjoyed that. I stirred the pot a bit more this morning. I’m looking forward to Sunday. :)
I know for my husband golf has been a networking pathway. He has made a lot of connections through golf that have been beneficial in his work life. He actually got into golf as a way of having something to do with his dad and brothers. For many men it’s just how they socialise. Women chat over coffee, men bond on the golf course. I do get it, but at the same time I don’t get it, if you know what I mean.
I’m with you, Rose! It’s a real snoozer for me too. In fact, when the PGA matches are on the TV at night and my husband is watching, it’s a great way to put me to sleep.
Eldest sons work (he is a CPA) have corporate golf days. Son invites hubby to attend. Hubby will take the day off work to do so. Boring to me but they really enjoy it. I have tried golf but I was hopeless and it just wasn’t for me.
Rose, I think golf is so contrary to how women operate. It feels like golf is based on wasting a lot of time. It drives me mad when you see golfers spend what feels like an eternity staring at their ball trying to work out which club to hit it with, which direction, factoring in wind, blah, blah, blah.
Oh, to have that much time to “waste”! My mind is always so full of scheduling and jobs that need to be done. Time wasting is usually not something that comes easily to women. Men, on the other hand... they seem to do it with ease!
I've always thought why would you want to hit a ball and then walk miles to try and find it.
Actually hubby is climbing the walls at the moment. No golf for 3 weeks now and no idea when he can get back out there at this stage. He does play with two social clubs though.
With one golf club, we did get to go to Hawaii so that was a good one. We have done a few trips for golf but for me it's mostly yawn because the ladies there are a bit over the top for me. Thankfully I can entertain myself with just being me and what I like doing. :-)
I'm hearing you, jatz! My hubby doesn't like to play in the cold so he's been off the course for a couple of months. He's getting pretty antsy. Now that the weather is due to warm up, he can't wait to get back into it but has to wait two more weekends due to "stuff". It's driving him mad!
Hawaii would have been nice! I lived there for a few years. I'd love to go for "golf" (shopping!). Hubby was talking about going to the Phillipines or maybe Malaysia for a golf event? We'll see.
Hawaii.....now that WOULD be nice. I’d like to go there one day. How’s the shopping?
Sephora (a good one - not like horrible Sephora here in AUS), Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, all the boutiques you can think of like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc. The boutiques are all mainly centered around Waikiki to maximise tourist traffic, but there's the Ala Moana shopping centre not far away, which is really nice. Even farther from that is Pearl City shopping centre which is good too, but smaller and not as many upscale stores as Ala Moana has. If you're shopping in Hawaii, definitely don't settle for what's in Waikiki. It's worth making the short trip out to the Ala Moana center.
The bad thing about shopping in Hawaii though is paying the state tax on goods, which is quite high. Higher than most states in the US.
Sorry, I should have specified too that I was talking about Oahu because that's the island I lived on.
I second the Ala Moana centre. I went to Hawaii in June for the first time and loved it but very expensive due to our declining dollar value :( But Lucrecia very jealous you lived there for a while. I loved Oahu.
Janefre, I was very lucky, wasn’t I? I had almost four years there, my first child was born there, I still have some friends there and my husband visits semi-regularly for work.
Doing the math this last time he visited, I ended up telling him not to bother with a lot of my Wishlist items because, as you mentioned, with the poor exchange rate, we weren’t really any better off getting anything there that we could buy here. Now the only things I ask him for is the US only items. But fortunately it seems that we’re getting goods here much quicker than we did in the past.
I've used this product a lot, it goes on very easily, is a good moisturiser as well as a tanning product, the smell is ok, it is easy to get out of the container.
I bought this from Chemist Warehouse for $20 after my Clarisonic stopped charging. I’m delighted with this new Olay Regenerist brush.
Olay Retinol 24 Night Eye Cream comes in a silver box and like the serum, the eye cream comes in a small purple glass container with a silver lid.
