It's okay if there's nothing, lol... feel free just to rant
Pizza with pineapple? What is wrong with you people???? Hahahaha. I find it funny when this is so heavily debated. Guess what, it's possible to order pizzas without the ingredients you don't like. Revolutionary, I know! LOL.
My local priceline never has things stocked with products which are advertised in the catalogue -very frustrating. First World problem I know...
My local Priceline is the same. It’s an absolute mess. I went in there yesterday. The shelves were empty, as they have been for months. The service is shocking too. I’m surprised it’s like this because it’s in a major shopping centre and the nearest Priceline is a long way. But I’d definitely rate it as the worst I’ve ever been in.
Clothing retailers who stock summer things in winter and winter things in summer. Went in Big W today to buy a pair of trackpants, bought a pair from there earlier in the year and wanted to buy another pair. No winter clothes in the store, getting all their summer gear in now. No doubt some of the Christmas trees and decorations will be coming out next month, it's September after all...
Yes I have noticed that as well, it is frustrating!! I have gone in at the start of winter looking for jackets, ugg boots etc and it is all hot weather clothing like dresses and shorts etc
This is the time of year when I buy winter items at clearance prices! (I don't like to pay full price for anything if I can get away with it!)
From memory, Christmas stuff DID start coming out in September last year!
Well it's lovely and sunny here in Perth, currently 23C .. I feel sorry for all you poor eastern states with your dreadful weather at the moment.
Theirs such a weird mix in the shops at the moment, still quite a few winter clothes and alot of them reduced to clear.
Great to get a bargain but I had to check the tags, some pants exactly the same as the others on the rack - just one size bigger and no reduced-to-clear tag on that one - very annoying, I don't know if it was on purpose to try and trick some shoppers or an oversight, I did'nt bother trying to find out.
I can’t find the charger for my Foreo. I’ve searched everywhere but no luck. Obviously I’ve put it in a safe place
Oh no, not THE SAFE PLACE! The amount of things I've mislaid because I put them in A SAFE PLACE is beyond belief! Why the hell do we do this?
My neighbours are ticking me off. They have a bunch of cars and they park on the street so it's always an obstacle course getting in and out of my driveway. Their garbage is always overflowing and blows into my yard so I've had to pick it up more than once. But the last straw is their kid's balls being stuck in my tree. He was tossing balls around with some friends and got one stuck way up high in my tree. So the geniuses thought they'd get that ball out by throwing another ball at it, meanwhile branches knocked out and guess who gets to pick them up? Me.
So I went out and managed to reach one ball with a shovel, but even the strong winds last night couldn't get the other one out. But I came home this morning to find a second ball back in my tree so he must have been at it again this morning before school. I got that one down and it's staying in my garage.
The truly annoying bit is that his dad came home yesterday while I was out talking to the kids and I told him what had happened. He saw both balls in my tree. He said and did absolutely nothing. So I told my husband that when he gets home from work tonight we are coming up with a way to get that ball down. I want the neighbours to see us doing it. Then when we do get the ball down, we're waking it straight into the garage and putting it next to the other ball so if they want it back, they need to come talk to us.
I just want to be able to relax in my home and not have to deal with the neighbours' inability to sort themselves out. Everyone else on the street seems to be able to do it, but they just can't get it together. So frustrating.
Ongoing neighbour dramas for me. I had to perform some major acrobatics to get that second ball out of my tree. It was super tightly wedged and really high up. Thankfully I have cheerleading experience and a very tall and strong husband as well as a clever mind for problem solving. I was really proud of our efforts and I'm glad the neighbour beside us was able to witness and celebrate the victory with us of accomplishing what looked like an impossible task. And I thought for all the work I put into it, I'd keep that ball too because, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
When hubby and I came inside, my daughter (who had been watching from the window) said the neighbour (either dad or grandpa of the kid who knew about the ball from the start and did nothing to try to help) actually witnessed the ordeal of us getting the ball down and hid behind his bush until we went in.
So the kid came over yesterday and asked for the balls back. I told him I didn't believe his apology because he apologised one day, said he'd keep his ball out of my tree and then threw it back up there again the very next day. I don't want the balls, I want a responsible adult to come over and speak to me so I can make sure we're all very clear about how their lack of consideration and respect for their neighbours needs to stop.
But I don't think that's going to happen. And now I just feel sad for the kid that in that house full of grown ups, none of them are willing to advocate for him. I genuinely hope this weekend maybe one of his many adult relatives (sister, mother, dad, grandma, granddad, auntie...) might find it in them to come and talk to me.
Lucrecia my parents have neighbours like that. These people are renting, so everyone lives in hope that they pack up and leave sometime soon. The kids run wild at all times of the day and night. The foul language from both the parents and kids is unbelievable. One night mum heard the mother of the kids yelling at them calling them ‘effing retards’. Charming! They seem to have a lot of cars which they just park anywhere and everywhere. They leave their rubbish wherever they feel like it. They did have two bull terrier dogs that would sometimes roam the street, but they had a fight and the damage was so bad that both of them had to be euthanised. Get the picture? It’s not good. So you have my sympathy. I just wish people would show respect for others. Doesn’t take much does it.
Oh no, Rose! That's terrible! I'd imagine your parents are getting up there in age so it must be all the more stressful for them. It's such a shame that it's "just one of those things we have to live with". :(
I was there one day when this awful woman was screaming at the kids. I wanted to call community services. Mum said that the neighbours had all discussed that, and decided not to just yet, mostly out of fear of retaliation. Because I don’t live there, I felt like I couldn’t go against what mum and dad said. But believe me, if it was happening here I wouldn’t hesitate. Disgraceful! I still can’t get over her calling them effing retards.
That was definitely the right call. The retaliation is always a concern, but especially for the elderly. If someone would speak to their own child like that, it wouldn't surprise me if they'd do worse to a neighbour they suspect reported them.
The thing is, for all their faults, my neighbours don't seem like THAT kind of people. Not malicious, just really unaware of how their choices effect those around them. To be honest, I'd love it if the father and son came over to speak to me about the balls. An apology from them and a quick chat about how their choices have repeatedly had negative consequences for me might make our living arrangement much better.
You can choose your friends but you can't choose your neighbours unfortunately. At the moment mine are playing loud music. If it was good music I would'nt mind but it's some sort of soft rap that is'nt great.
Lisa, go one better and turn yours up even LOUDER! I had workmen behind me playing extremely loud foreign music recently. It was so loud that I could hear it with the doors and windows closed. So I decided to compete. My choice of music was Pink, U and Ur Hand Tonight....
Midnight I'm drunk, I don't give a fkkk
Wanna dance by myself guess you're out of luck
Don't touch, back up, I'm not the one
I'm not here for your entertainment
You don't really wanna mess with me tonight
Just stop and take a second
I was fine before you walked into my life
'Cause you know it's over, before it began
Keep your drink just give me the money
It's just you and your hand tonight
It was VERY VERY VERY loud. And it worked! Hahaha
As for competing & turning your music up louder, can I just speak from the rest of your neighbours' point of view? I've had two neighbours try to outdo each other in the past. It affects more than just you & the original loud guys! Everyone in my block was getting p***d off!
Ain't that the truth! Yes, we get the loud music too. And parties on the weekend. There's a few adult children living across the street (hence all the cars) and one of them works for a moving company so we hear him getting picked up by the noisy truck every morning.
Oh, one day I was expecting my husband home so I was looking out the front window and wondered why there was a car parked halfway across my driveway. It belonged across the street, so I walked over and knocked on the door but no one came. Twice I did that so I called the police. At first they said they couldn't do anything, but I said I couldn't access my driveway because of them, which I thought was illegal. So he asked for the rego and looked it up. Apparently it was suspended, but in the time it took him to look it up, someone turned up with a small fuel can. They'd run out of fuel. They just seem to struggle a lot in all aspects of their life management skills.
Good idea! . I could tell all kinds of stories about terrible neighbours!. The cars parked over the street is very common in my area because the house blocks are small and a lot of people have too much stuff so they just chuck it all in the garage. so the cars go everywhere. and anywhere.
I know their is no excuse for calling your kids effing retards but it does'nt always mean they are being physically abused. I have a lot of problems controlling my temper (and emotions in general) Part of it is the way my brain is wired and part of it is the side effects of my epilepsy medication. Every house we have lived in the neighbours have told my husband "your wife yells alot " Our kids are almost adults now. I have'nt called them 'effing retards' but I have said things I regret. I personally don't believe I yell that much. (thankfully the kids don't yell back) Maybe they don't realise it and they need to be told? hopefully they will move out, if renters are not good people then real estate agents usually don't renew their lease.
That's exactly right, Lisa. Perhaps they just aren't aware. I think it's very easy to think we aren't bothering anyone when in fact, maybe we are. I want to believe people are mostly good. But there are a few out there who just suck. But we all deserve the chance to do better and it can be hard to realise we aren't doing as well as we thought unless someone shows us what we can do better.
Yelling... I swore I'd never yell at my kids, but I have 5 and I just can't be everywhere. Dressing one while another is taking too long in the bathroom, bickering elsewhere, watching the clock because you know you're running behind... Not to mention all the times I've had to yell just to be heard over the rest of the noise. But the neighbours right beside me swear they don't hear any of my yelling! I think maybe they're just being polite,
There's always a bunch of things we all wish we did better, but just life sometimes. You can't be too hard on yourself.
I’ve suffer from epilepsy too. It sucks doesn’t it. I developed it about four years ago. Being the independent woman I am, I HATE not being able to drive. I’m told that you can start driving again once you have been 12 months without a seizure, but I just can’t get there.
My memory is pretty bad. I'm more worried I would step on the accelerator instead of the brake, or vice versa, I might be one of those drivers who crashes into someones living room, I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up in a road rage incident either LOL
My memory is absolutely shocking. It’s strange that I can remember things from when I was really young, like 4 or 5 years old, but I can’t remember things that happened just a few years ago. An example, we went on a cruise about 6 years ago and I have absolutely no memory of it.
Do you have problems reading things, for example recipes? I find it really hard to follow a recipe. It may as well be written in Chinese! This was never a problem for me in the pre-epilepsy days.
One bonus is I can watch the same movie 10 times and never remember the storeyline and get bored. I have trouble concentrating on things, so recipes are annoying. I can't read a book because I can't remember the storyline eg. 'John walked into the room' I'm thinking who the heck is John?
After I came across faultless reviews about this product I just wanted to share my experience with as many people I could.
This hair mask gives my hair a just-come-out-of-the-hairdresser-salon feel to it. My hair feels and looks healthy and well-behaved.
I received the mini mavala nail polish in the colour 'Lima' in my beauty heaven bag. It is super smooth and applies evenly.
