Recommendations for a 5 Star hotel in Melbourne

Can anyone recommend a good 5 star hotel in Melbourne in the CBD. Looking at going for 3 nights in August and have nearly $800 worth of credit to use from a hotel booking site so thought I might spoil myself and stay somewhere a bit special.

Have a look at Treasury On Colins, I’m actually staying there in a few weeks so can report back, but based on reviews it’s amazing.

A good budget hotel in the city will start at $150. Anything much cheaper is going to have severe limitations so make sure you read all reviews. Have a look at https://travelsites.com/booking-sites/ to get an idea of prices.

All great options posted already. I think it also depends what style you want. For example, The Windsor is a classic old school iconic institution in Melbourne however if you want something more modern, perhaps Sofitel.

I’m from Sydney and have stayed in neither except Sofitel in Germany, so take it with a grain of salt lol. Check out some reviews and photos online, that’s part of the fun too!

I used to live in Melbourne and there are quite a few 5 star hotels dotted all around the CBD. The Langham and Crown Towers are situated at Southbank with views of the city and the Yarra river. Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt and the Stamford are also options. Not that I’ve stayed at any but just remember them from walking around the city. Whatever you decide have fun.
    Man I miss Melbourne 🙁

I haven’t stayed at the Melbs equivalent but Shangri-La and Hilton are always amazing quality and luxury! I’ve stayed at those in Cairns/Sydney and overseas.

It will depend if you want like a one-off boutique or “chain” luxury 5 star too.

    BUMPING post for more traction.

I`ve stayed at both Shangri-La & Hilton in Sydney & gotta say I`ve been disappointed with both (although Sydney`s Shangri-La does have amazing views of the harbour from the 36th floor bar). I much prefer staying at Swissotel if I`m staying in town. At least their beds are comfortable.

For clarity, I stayed at Shangri-La in Cairns / Hilton in Sydney (this was before I had moved to Sydney).

Then mates have stayed at Shangri-La and had a mini party at their room in Sydney, I didn`t sleep over the entire night/but found it comfy (amazing view from their room).

    Bump!

I’m a Sydneysider, so I can’t offer any suggestions, but WOW! Have fun, Hayley!
