Product and service reviews on other sites

I love reading up on reviews on beauty heaven before making a purchase, and I also read up on reviews for other products and services using sites like productreview.com.au – I spent hours and hours reading reviews on prams and car seats before purchasing them for my now 8 month old. However I don’t actually use productreview.com.au to post reviews myself.

I read up on accommodation on trip adviser and similar sites before booking and I read up on cafes and restaurants using Zomato before trying new places (and I’ve actually posted some reviews on here).

Which sites do you read reviews on besides BH? And which do you post to?

I regularly read Reddit and makeupalley. I find their reviews quite comprehensive and up to date as well. I’ve never submitted any reviews though! In fact, the reviews on beautyheaven helped me heaps while contemplating on my purchases, and that’s what prompted me to join beautyheaven.

Does anyone know some other sites that you get free products on not just makeup or beauty but other free stuff?

There’re heaps I reckon! Off the top of my head would be freesamplesaustralia and stayathomemom

Aside from Beautyheaven, I regularly use MakeupAlley and Temptalia for beauty and skincare reviews. I also love Fragrantica for fragrance reviews, CosDNA to check suitability of ingredients for my skin type and Reddit boards.

Productreview is usually pretty useful also, and Zomato for sure!

I’m a regular poster on Trip Advisor and Makeupalley too.

I’ve never heard of those makeup and fragrance sites Rayraybites – I’ll check them out!

And so many mentions of Google Maps reviews – I don’t know that I’ve ever looked at those before, and I use Google Maps all the time.

It’s got me thinking that I really should make an effort to post more about the good and bad products and services out there because so many of us rely on this information to help us make a good informed decision.

I’m a member of Product Review & have reviewed some stuff on there before, but not for a while.

I use fragrantica.com for perfume reviews and makeupalley.com for makeup and skincare but I only ever post my reviews on BH bc of the awesome rewards and benefit so it’s actually worthwhile my time and effort xx

I used to write a lot of trip advisor but then I’ve lost incentives to write. Same for google reviews. I really should pick up my habit again!

I enjoy writing reviews and tend to do a lot of reviews of restaurants and bars etc on Google reviews. It’s easy and simple to do and try to reward great places when they are good and give negs rewards only when warrented.

I’ve done a couple of reviews on Google maps and Trip advisor, especially good local places that I think tourists will find a good deal at – Australia can be pretty expensive when it comes to eating out

I’ve done some reviews on Google maps, for places or shops I’ve been, especially if there was great service. I’ll be sure to check out productreview.
