I’ve only just started getting into podcasts. I was looking for some recommendations. I do like crime, true story type thing, but am open to any suggestions.

Indie – I was reading a magazine and saw the word podcast and immediately thought of you and wrote down this one.
Apparently Jessica Rowe & Denise Drysdale have teamed up to host a weekly podcast called One Fat Lady & One Thin Lady. They apparently chat about motherhood, beauty tips and sex. Nothing is out of bounds for these two.

Highly recommend checking out the “Conversations” podcasts on there as a starting point.
I listen to them via the radio and honestly, they feel like you’re sitting in a coffee shop listening to 2 people chat. Not at all like a formal, or highly scripted show.
They chat with a different person each time, often someone who you’ve never heard of, but this person’s backstory is fascinating. I always thoroughly enjoy them.
Also, check out “The Moth” radio hour. Live on the radio RN early Saturday evenings, it is a podcast produced in the US, but features people from around the world.
They have a “theme” each week. And the Podcast features ordinary people who go on stage, and tell a story to a live audience. Maybe 4 – 6 people per show, from anywhere in the world. It’s a show I never miss, and really look forward to hearing each week

ABC RN ( Radio National) have really good podcasts in their programming, covering a huge range of topics and interests.
You can listen to them live on the radio, or catch them via Podcast on the website. When they have crime related podcasts, they are usually based on a true, Australian criminal, or series of Australian crimes

Casefile and dirty John both satisfied my serial season one withdrawals… Though to me serial is still a league of its own.

I listen to a lot of crime podcasts, these are my favourites:
*Someone knows something (it’s a canadian one – each season is a different story)
*Finding cleo (it’s canadian based crimes – each season is a different story)
*Casefile (each episode is a different story)
*Criminal (each episode is a different story)
After you are done with Serial, I’d suggest Undisclosed (it’s still on the Serial case but from a different perspective).
I know a lot of people like My favourite murder (but I personally don’t like that one as I find they laugh too much and it’s distracting and I don’t like their voices)…BUT, with that being said you may like it. It’s very popular.

Most welcome 🙂 Hope you enjoy.
Let me know once you start listening what you think.
I listen to mine on my commute to and from work and while I cook.
