Opera House

I would only like to see it lit up in colour. i.e. Pink for Breast Cancer.

I’m definitely not a fan of this new development. It feels disrespectful to a very iconic building.

I wonder if there’ll be some adverts emblazoned across the opera house while Harry and Meghan are visiting? I think not.

I’m more disgusted by the NSW government for over ruling the Opera Houses Management. When the management said no, that should have been the end of it.

I would be curious though if the advertising was for anything else, a charitable, or human rights organisation would that have been ok?

I strongly disagree with it. It is an Australian icon. Tourists come here to see the Opera House. They don’t come here to see it saturated with advertising for a horse race, which in effect is condoning gambling.

Next thing you know there will be adds on our passports and currency!

I don’t think advertising is appropriate on an iconic Australian landmark which is recognisable internationally.

I signed the petition to take it down. Just ridiculous!! I was listening to ABC Radio and one of the guys from The Chaser (comedy show) got Alan Jones phone number and put it on the sales after he argued to keep the advertisement going. Apparently, Alan Jones was inundated with disgruntled calls.
