Need to talk?
Hey Beauties,
Just tried searching for a forum that had something similar and thought I would start one.
I was feeling a little low or bored or I’m not really sure and was wondering if anyone else gets that. Normally I love love LOVE my days off but maybe it’s the weather change but I am feeling a little lost. How is everyone else doing?

Hi Fashionista, I hear you. I struggle too, it could be many things but for me it’s hormonal. Be kind to yourself when you feel that way. Take some time out to do something that brings you joy and eat a banana, apparently very good at lifting the mood. I also keep some calming 100% lavender oil on hand and Swisse High Strength Valerian which is great taken 30 mins before bedtime if you have trouble getting to sleep.
Oh and my best little tip, stay away Facebook when you feel low. You don’t need the highlights of other peoples lives in your face when you are not feeling great. xx

Hope you feel better, maybe even anxiety which runs in our family . Also I find popping in to see a trusty GP helps too even just for a checkup. Take care.

We haven’t seen much of you on the forum for a while, Fashionista!
DO check out the “Lift Esteem” thread! Many of the regular forumites follow it.

I know! Thanks @misfortune8 my life went on many twists and turns these last 2 years, I moved from QLd to work rurally in the NT and then moved away for a couple months to work on Lord Howe Island and now settled here in Tassie. I haven`t really had a permanent address and obviously wasn`t doing much on BH because I was so rural but since coming to Tassie and now I have a more stable life I was able to accept a few trials but that`s it and trying to get more involved again because I loved it. Its good to be back! 🙂

I holidayed in Tassie in the 90s. It was lovely, but not “”city”” enough for me. We hope to see you around more on the forum then.

I just went and found the Lift Esteem thread which is below for any others that may want to see what it’s all about.

I really think the weather and people make you feel low at times. The heat up here in Qld has been unbearable and mood swings have been so low.
When feeling low, I just seem to lob myself in front of the tv and more times than most, I fall asleep. Sleep is great to forget how you are feeling.
Oooh exciting times for you then Lisa with moving to a new abode. My son just moved to a new place and he said it was stressful but they are all settled now and loving it.

I miss the QLD heat sometimes but not the heat waves haha. I moved to Tassie nearly a year ago and the days are already starting to get shorter and nights a lot cooler. I don`t think we had much of a summer at all.
Best of luck to your son, glad to hear they are settled. Its also a blessing to move your possessions because you tend to go through a decluttering which always feels cleansing. 🙂

Well that doesn`t sound so great, here we had the opposite, I lived in my jeans through summer basically haha.
Hope you can arrange another time to get to Tassie, its pretty special but quite spread out so you do need to drive around depending on where you want to go. I still haven`t seen a lot of it!

I think everyone feels a little down in the dumps at times, Fashionista. I usually grab my Kindle or puzzle book to focus on something else for a while. A home mani or pedicure or face mask usually perks me up. But, if you’re just feeling ‘off’ don’t overthink it – just find something to do to ease the tension.

I certainly understand Fashionista. Been very much feeling like I’m just going through the motions of life. Going to work, going home, cooking, cleaning, watching TV and repeat. Not really sure how to go about changing it. Feeling a bit lost. Sorry that’s no help, but there are definitely others in the same boat.

Yes it does help @Nicoler , I think that`s what it is just was doing the daily routine and didn`t feel very special at all. Some days I absolutely love it and relish my job and coming home to a secure house and catching up on tv shows or spending time around the house, but other times it doesn`t feel so great. But I guess it`s all in the motions and we need to keep reminding ourselves that it never lasts long and each year when you look back things are a little better than they were <3 (easier said than done though sometimes haha)

Exercise can help. We’ve recently moved house, it’s been stressful and I’ve been too busy to exercise. I was feeling restless and unhappy – then it dawned on me that it was because I had’nt been going for my morning walk, or walking in the evening with my husband. With all the cleaning, unpacking and not knowing the area well I put it on the backburner, then I realised how much of a difference it makes to my wellbeing.

You are too right! I was just in a mood and forgot a lot about how to take self care. I live right near the water and went for a walk on the beach and it helps a lot, and definitely I need to be reminded that I am so grateful to live right near the water.
How is the move going now? I know the feeling of just having things unorganised and not in there right spots. Best of luck with the unpacking Lisa!

We only moved about 2km away so that`s made it easier and quicker. Everyday things get better. We are`nt as close to the beach here so I`m going to miss my morning beach walks but I think I`ll go back to my `old stomping ground` on the weekends for a longer walk and head on down the beach. Being near the water is so soothing is`nt it? I lived in Alice Springs for a few years and found it was so strange to be so far from the ocean or any large body of water.
Even when we are feeling like crap their are always things to be grateful for.
