I recently completed my first assignment at university. I really have a feeling that my writing skills are very poor because I haven’t been able to write a good essay.

Before any kind-hearted member responds to Bibikalka’s question, please be aware that he/she a serial spammer. Maybe they’re asking a question to look like a genuine member, or maybe they’re planning on posting spam on this thread later on.

I’m doing the same degree at Monash! But I am studying externally as I’m stuck in Darwin for the time being. Great degree though, am loving it 🙂

Im very excited for learning new things! But nervous for making new friends, im quite shy and am not very good at making new friends…havent had to do it since primary school!!
Does anyone have any tips on how to make friends at uni? I was thinking about getting involved in some clubs or something. They have so many!!

Congratulations, Princessbeck and Breathesarah! It’s SOOO long since I was in your situation that I hesitate to offer advice but I don’t think things will ever change totally. My advice is to feel your way, neither of you seem like the kind of people who’ll rush into things without thinking, and don’t join ANYTHING unless it really does appeal to you. There will be more than enough activities that will be well worth supporting so think before you join. That way you won’t be faced with wanting to back out of something that you wish you hadn’t gone into.
Enjoy your time. Wonderful, lasting, great memories will happen.
Excellent advice from the girls on this thread. All the very best.

Princessbeck, Im also afraid of that too its so big!!!! I have to enroll on wednesday but im going to visit on tuesday to find my way and stuff.

I can’t comment on the big uni thing (ACU in melbourne is pretty much just 5 levels up! lol) but I’ve been to Deakin for a year too and you’ll soon get the hang of it!

I almost forgot, get into the uni’s O-Week, Monash are really good at welcoming new students 🙂 I’ve heard it’s amazing fun and a great way to meet new and old students 🙂
