I saved a Spider (North Queensland Flooding)

Well my saving of a Whistling Spider went viral over the weekend! Just walking home from checking out the Herbert River in full flood when I came across this girl trying to get on higher ground. We moved her to a tree to be free.

Wow good on you! I’m not scared of spiders in general but that one is huge and fury and I probably wouldn’t have been able to do what you did!

I mentioned somewhere in these threads about you Gofton and the spider but I didn’t mention your name so I am glad you are showing it here for others that may not have seen it.

Wow Gofton you are braver than me…….I would have run a mile. That spider was a biggy. I hope your got paid for the video. It’s all been on the news up here too.

How are you going in the floods though? Looks like we now have to look out for Cyclone Linda. Just what we need here…..more rain 🙁

Hi Jatz…it has been a big cleanup that’s for sure and the mud still stinks, had a little shower of rain that did absolutely nothing! Hope that cyclone Linda doesn’t give you too much trouble and fizzles out. Hopefully the beautiful Spidy girl is out there making more spidies!!!

Well I just hope those little baby spidies stay up your way and not head down to Meedee and then further on to me. We had a huge huntsman in our bedroom the other night and it went under the bed and I didn`t sleep well that night.

Oh jatz there is no way i would have slept in there….lol I have moved to another bedroom in the past because i knew there was a huntsman in my room. The thing that gets me with the Hunstman is how fast they move and that you hear them skitter as they run….that freaks me out.

I had to trust the words from my hubby that he said that it would probably take off to another room. I must admit, during the night I did jump a few times thinking it was on my arm. Still not found him/her yet. Hopefully will go back outside and find more food out there.

My ex mother in law had them in her bedrooms and loved them. I never ever slept over there. Freaked out though when the kids went and stayed with them. They never wanted to go either.

I’m scared to death of spiders, but what you did warms my heart. It’s not their fault they look a certain way. You are an amazing human being.

    That’s awesome!!!
