I am now a proud Australian Permanent Resident! yay!

Hi ladies
I am creating this topic just to say how happy I am that I am now a permanent resident! Too happy! After 2 years of wait, and piles and piles of documents to provide to the immigration plus being a temporary resident during those 2 years,I can finally apply for the job that is in my field, that requires me as a permanent resident.

Seems like everything is going my way this year! My parents fi are finally happy with me being with my partner, I think there might be an engagement plan too(my partner wants this as a surprise so no date is set yet),and I don’t have to leave the country anymore.

So happy to share this happy new with you all 🙂

yeah have to. as i had lived in Singapore from 1998 to 2005, i had to do a police check over there(as they needed police check in countries where you had resided for more than 12 months for the past 10 years). It was abit moer complicated with them and took more time with overseas calls and emails. But all good now. What stressed me then was the whole typing out abt the nature of the relationship, how u meet your partner, when did u start dating, when did u start seeing each other and when did you start your relationship etc. and its basically me telling strangers about my whole personal relationship lol. its crazy but guess just have to be done!

yes i know all the documents work involved. hopefully i will get a reply next week and know what’s going on.

Couldn’t agree more ladies! So lucky to be in this country. And I am not sure abt $3000 being the application fee but I paid 2500++ I think its 2700 at the moment, but pkus the medical check up,it’ll cost up to $3000+. Also, usually temp visa will be given abt 3 mths after u lodge the 1st application. Good luck!

only 3 months? i’ve been waiting for a year and 2 months ><

No u get temp visa as soon as your application is in thats why u can stay in aus with your partner until the immidecides on your case, which you will most probably get as long as you’re still with your partner and obviously when all the evidence they need from the 1st application had been satisfied 🙂 hope this helps

oh yeah i know what u mean now. did u do the australia police check?
