Do you Substitute?

Like everyone else I have been decluttering.
I found 4 bottles of Body Wash. I thought how much Body Wash can one person use. So I have decided to use it as Hand Wash instead.
I am only on the 1st bottle and it works well. Nice scent too. Even hubby noticed a different scent.
Have you found any uses for products that are intended for something else?

I’ve used cream eyeshadows that crease no matter what primer I use as eyeliner. I’m currently using an eye contour pencil as a brow pencil. An olay moisturiser which causes a breakout on my face is now a foot and toe nail cream.

I do have a makeup revolution eyeshadow primer -Prime and lock – which is terrible so if anyone had any repurpose/substitute ideas before I ditch it?

I’m trying to use up a lot of random things around the house on my mission to both minimise what I have and also go plastic free as much as possible.

I just commented elsewhere but everything is MARKETING
Foot cream? you can use that on your face or neck. Neck serum? can be used on your hands. If it works for you, doesn’t irritate or react – go for it.

I use lip balm on my nails, there are some body lotions my partner uses on his face. Moisturisers and serums I have used up on my neck, chest, hands etc.

I plan on transitioning to bar soap which works for my body and face which is awesome. Plastic free and multiuse.

Lawliet My 2019 NY Resolution was to do this. Unfortunately I did not succeed so I added this to my 2020 Resolution.
I do like your tip on lip balms. I hadn’t thought of this. Thank you!

It was my new years resolution this year to finish ALL of my beauty products before buying new ones (which I have partially stuck to :P)… I own so many lip balms that I have begun using some of them as hand cream or putting them on particularly dry patches of skin.
Shampoo, is also used to wash my makeup brushes and eyeshadow is occasionally turned into eyeliner!

I mainly use all my beauty product’s accordingly to what they are for but I do have a old pink lipstick that I don’t use anymore & I’ve used it few time’s on my cheek as a blusher as it’s a light pink one & can take off really well for that plus there was a time when I ran out of shave cream so I just used my conditioner to shave my leg’s with until I got some.

Yup, I often use up skin care products that don’t suit my face on my body. I think it’s better to do so than to waste.

Oils are very versatile and can be used on hair and skin. Sometimes I mix my own.

Recently due to the shortage of liquid hand soaps in supermarkets, I bought a cheap 1L body wash for $3.50 at aldi and used that as hand soap too. As long as it soaps up and hands are washed and rinsed properly, it’s still effective for washing off germs.

I’m sure all mothers have received their fair share of mothers day gift packs with more soaps and hand creams and lotions than one person could ever use! These are good for moisturising the rough spots on elbows and feet at bed time, for shaving, and as an antistatic in winter. The scented soaps always get used as clothes deodorisers in drawers and suitcase, and the non-scented soaps for cleaning makeup brushes and sponges, as brow setting wax (a great tip from pixiwoo!)

I also have a stash of accumulated hotel soap/shampoo/body wash/lotion that I use for various other purposes. The only hotel portions I use for the intended purpose are the sachets of laundry detergent and dishwashing liquid (because those are very handy for washing while travelling and not all hotels provide them).

I’ve often used products labelled as body wash as a hand wash because they have similar surfactants (ingredients that make a product lather up). If I really dislike the scent of a body/hand wash and I can’t wait to get rid of it, I use it to wash the dishes with it, clean makeup brushes and sponges with it etc.

I also use older face moisturisers as body moisturisers, use face oils as body oil to moisturise deeply areas that always seem so dry.

Have used Matt Eyeshadow as Eyebrow Powder it works really well and if you have run out of under eye pencil you can use your eyebrow pencil as well. Until you buy some more.

Also you can use facial oils to moisturise my nails both toe nails and finger nails.
