Credit card points

Hi Everyone, Just curious to know how you spend your credit card and other accumulated points other than BH. I am a bit of a points hoarder and have accumulated quite a bit of credit card and flybuys points. Now is the big question how do I spend them? I am quite tempted to use them to treat myself at Myer to high-end beauty products I will not ordinarily purchase. Will love to hear how you use your points.

I used to save all my flybuys points up, then redeem for flybuys dollars which were loaded onto my flybuys card. I could spend them at Target, Kmart, Coles or Liquorland. I’ve still got a hoard of points, even though they’ve introduced the new $10 off your shop.

Whenever I redeem points (or spend from a gift card) at the supermarket, I usually put aside my usual supermarket allotment & spend it on a treat for myself.

I use my flybuys $$ on flybuys travel!! They give better value than transferring them to vff points as you only get 870 per 2000

I have a CBA credit card which I earn points on I usually transfer them to my Vigin Velocity frequent flyer account and I transfer my fly buys points to my virgin frequent flyer account as well. I often use them for hotel bookings when I travel and have stayed in some hotels for nothing by using points.

Hi Hayley644, Thanks for your reply. I probably should transfer to velocity miles. Just curious do you know if the points transfer is instant?

i don’t have a rewards credit card, i much prefer no annual fee option. Hubby calculated and said it wasn’t worth it

I agree, earning FF points just on credit card spending isn`t the same as it was two years ago because the of the way the points system has changed. However, I can earn FF points in other ways which help to clock up points. I managed to accumulate most of our points before the change but paying for a card just to earn points isn`t worth it these days.

He is so right. On my card I basically have to spend $5000 to get $25, but I use my card for everything.

My Woolies points transfer to my Qantas FF points and I buy gift vouchers with my Coles points. I also get gift vouchers with my Myer points.

I have just used some of my QFF points for two return Business class tickets to Europe (First class London to Hong Kong on the return leg). Fortunately I still have enough for another Business class world trip.

Points towards Business class tickets is the dream, but when traveling with hubby, its way too much points.

I have a Qantas Frequent Flyers Visa. At the moment my points go to Qantas but as I am unlikely to fly very often I’m contemplating whether to convert my points to Woolies as I suspect that the items that can be redeemed for at the Qantas store are not value for money.

Same here. Don`t think I will be able to fly anytime soon.

I save flybuys/QANTAS points and use them at Christmas buying vouchers or presents, helps a lot. Priceline etc i use up my points when they are due

Woolies points are banked for Christmas, which I really enjoyed last year $200 store credit on 15th December.

I’ve used my woolworths points mostly towards airlines and purchased a flight last year. Now I’ve switched to the cash rewards as I’m taking a break from holidays for a while. I still have a credit card that accumulates qantas points though 🙂

We’ve also bought a toaster from flybuys
