Credit card fraud – beware

This is why I don’t do internet banking and also a reluctant internet shopper… If you’re smart, you would know that those rich bankers won’t touch internet banking with a barge pole. One of our friends is a tech genius and he won’t do internet banking whatsoever, regardless any bank’s guarantee.

    BUMP

Just bringing this topic forward as I just want to warn of how easy it must be for robbers to steal details etc. I`ve had one card details and used a few days ago and then my other one this morning.

I`ve contacted bank and also notified the companies that were also `shopped` at with my details but there is nothing more now I can do.

The bank said it`s smarter to go through afterpay or paypal when buying things online (even if that is how they got my details) because it`s harder for the robber to get the card details that way.

    Hi bh Beauties

Great expose for card users not so much for banks, here`s something everyone should know banks actually have a duty of care not that they will share this with their customers. In the event of fraud occurring they are legally bound to have preventative measures in place to eliminate such practices.

The key is for the customer to provide all the information relevant to such fraud and then put in writing a timeframe in which the bank must provide acknowledgement and receipt of the shared problem.

It is also advantageous to provide the same information via email if you wish as a good tracking measure to the banking ombudsmen and at every turn note the person time and date you communicate the issue with.

This is a sure fire way to eliminate a lengthy outcome. A friend of mine did just this and also claimed interest on the monies from her bank!

Thanks Music, I`m always wary of using my credit card details online, which is why I prefer PayPal, but I do use my bank account to pay bills online……will have to make sure all my details are correct next time I get a statement. Thanks again, have a great day!
