Cancer, Cats, Cavalier Cross and Candles.

Hi Lovelies,

Sorry for being a stranger on the Forums last year and this year.

My wee family has had a heartbreaking 2021 so far and I need a place to let it out.

On the last day of Feb, we lost our cheeky 13 year old Cavvie X Maltese to a rather bad spinal injury- Yves was a loyal klutz and we were devastated.

Just under three weeks later my Father-in-Law lost his pancreatic cancer battle.

Shortly after this, my husband was let go from his job.

Throughout it all our 14 year old beautiful sweetheart cat offered us endless snuggles and smooches.

Darling Coco knew we were mourning and she watched over us as she did with my Mum in the early days of Mum’s dementia.

Last week, our little Queen couldn’t hold on anymore- unbeknownst to us, she had an enlarged heart and her time to depart came.

Who were we going to snuggle with now? We were so upset that the kids slept on our bed for two nights in a row.

I decided to give my depressed self some much needed retail therapy and scored a Cire Trudon 270g candle at a decent discount and a discontinued Glasshouse candle for a steal.

Hopefully the rest of 2021 looks up for our family and for all of you too!

❤️

So sorry about the tough time you’ve had of it Lucy. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am. I know my time will come where I will have the loss of a parent but I hate to think about it.

Thankyou for the reminder to count my blessings. I hope that things improve for you soon.

So glad you bought yourself some candles, Lucy. My heart goes out to you. The losses, human and animal are so sad but how wonderful your gorgeous Coco hung on as long as she did. I can’t imagine the heartache with your husband losing his job with everything else you have to cope with, Hoping for miracles for you and your family and sending hugs.

So sorry to hear what you have been going through Lucy. Pancreatic Cancer is terrible and I have lost family/friends this way. It’s a very hard cancer to watch someone you care about die this way.

To losing your pets…..it is horrible and I can so relate when the time comes to say good bye to them.

So many others out there have lost their jobs due to covid and it’s a real pain. I’ve known some males to be so distressed about it all and the wife has found them in tears. It is so hard.

Good to see you back here at BH…..I also have been away for over a year due to issues. It’s good when you return though and meet new members in here also 🙂

So sorry for all the heartache you have endured Lucy 🙁 Life can be very cruel sometimes. Losing loved ones and our precious fur babies is hard enough but to endure it at the moment, with everything else going on, is torture. I’m glad you found a place here to get it off your chest. Sending you positive vibes & strength to get through these difficult times xx

Oh Lucy, my heart breaks for you!

Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear about your FIL losing his cancer battle. I know what it’s like to watch a loved one go downhill fast with pancreatic cancer (lost my maternal grandfather to it), so I can understand how sudden it must’ve felt. Pancreatic cancer is so cruel in that regard IMO & the only comfort you can take from it is that your loved one is no longer in pain.

Secondly, also very sorry to hear about the loss of your fur babies. Again, I know what it’s like to lose a beloved pet, especially when they are such a part of your family.

Lastly, just as sorry for your husband’s job loss & I really hope he is able to find another job soon. COVID has been awful for employment all around, what with lockdowns & the like.

Sending you big hugs (albeit socially distanced), lots of love, positivity & strength.

Sorry to hear you have had so much loss and glad you felt you could come here and let it out. My sincere condolences on the loss of your Father in Law and your husbands job loss.

The loss of our precious pets leaves such an empty spot in our lives I have been through the same and I do understand as they really are special family members.

Sending you and your family hugs and positive thoughts.
