Are you bored at home with nothing to do

I love to play games on my computer when I am bored and I have a couple of companies that are free to download their games. As I am an oldie and have to stay at home most of the time I find that having some games to play is really well worthwhile. The best I found is called TopGames and as they have quite a few of all different games you do a have choice. There are still more if you would prefer to find them yourself but I do like this one so if you do, I hope you enjoy them. In these troubling times we have to do what we can to try and keep ourselves interested.

I love being home and although I was already medically retired I find the quiet streets and the slow down has really helped with my stress and anxiety.

I have had a lot of stress with my unwell partner and spent a lot of time at hospital and even that was easier as the rules are so stringent to get in to visit – only one particular person allowed at anyone time in a 24 hour period- it wasn’t so chaotic!

I enjoy cooking, gardening and walking and have never been a social butterfly so I am happy and ever so grateful for all that I do have.

LadyLola We sound very similar. Ive never been much of a social butterfly either. Im happy being on my own as i enjoy my own company so I dont have an issue with feeling lonely or isolated.

Caring for someone with cancer certainly keeps you very busy and for me that was the biggest change as when R passed it was just as covid was starting to ramp up so not long after his passing the rules regarding covid came into play so it was a bit of a shock going from being so busy caring for R and running to two different hospitals, attending all the blood transfusion and chemo appointments, etc….to then being isolated at home. Having so much time on my hands was a very odd thing but I am very used to it now and enjoying being able to catch up with things that I had put on the back burner.

I remember after R died you said their were a lot of things to do and you needed some time to process your feelings. When all the lockdowns started I was thinking of you and hoping it would give you all of the time you needed to spend quietly reflecting and resting.

It certainly was a dramatic time Lisa but for me covid worked in my favour as some very kind and well meaning friends would phone me for a chat which was great but they were all saying the same thing and that was when covid is over and the cafes open up again lets go out for lunch, coffee, morning tea, dinner, etc….. I know they mean well but im really watching my pennies and dont want to go out and spend money on food and im just happy being at home. Thankfully no one has bothered to contact me back to drag me out for coffee…phew. My most wonderful friend has called in a few times for a cuppa and she calls me for chats at night every couple of weeks. That is just perfect for me.

I never get bored at home. When pandemic came I have start to work from home, and for it’s waaaaaaaaay better than working in the office. Also I love to exercise at home especially perform some yoga exercises.

I’ve been focusing on doing more yoga – I used to go to classes at a studio and before this, I had no idea there were so many fabulous (and free!) yoga and workout videos on Youtube. I didn’t think I would find it almost as enjoyable as an in-studio class, it’s been a great little discovery for me.

We’ve also got a few puzzles we’re planning on getting through and working our way through our list of series, books and movies. I started an online photography course on the weekend, excited to have the time to learn some new things!

I used to play lots of games from Big Fish – they currently have bunch of games to download for free as a COVID-19 promo. My favourite types were the hidden object and time management ones.

I just came on here to do product reviews. I have been flat out. Hubby is working from home and I have had to home school the children!!!!!!

I wasn’t bored today. My youngest son took me to Dr early to get my blood test done. I did some housework. I sat in the chair and I felt so cold that I put a blanket over me. Miss Pussy Cat decided to snuggle up on my lap and go to sleep, and I fell asleep too. Oops! When I woke up I sorted out some washing, organised dinner, and took Miss Dog for her walk. We got home around the same time as hubby. Dinner was roast chicken, and we cooked it in the BBQ. So much easier than doing it inside. Cleaned up, and that’s about it. Now I’m just sitting here contemplating when I should go and have a shower. I’m tired and I want to go to bed but it’s a bit early just yet.

I have to laugh about my dog and her walkies though. I can’t take her at the exact same time everyday. If I develop a routine of taking her at say 2.00pm, I swear she knows what time it is, and she doesn’t care if it’s 40 deg, snowing or torrential downpour, she wants to go now. So I have to sometimes take her in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. She’s a smart little cookie.

I’m not bored at all. I’ve written a list of all the things I can do just so I stay focused and don’t waste this valuable time. I’m glad I have possibly three months because the list is getting longer and longer.

We’ve been cleaning everything and sorting out all the cupboards. Hubby’s cleaned all the windows, driveways and walkways; trimmed the hedges; and mowed the lawns. I follow him around and clean up.

I’m exercising more, which is a good thing. We have a stack of puzzle books to keep our minds sharp, and there’s always plenty of activities or research to do online.

I also have my family tree to keep me busy but as soon as I turn to that I’m lost for days on end.

    No boredom here.
I finally get to catch up on those things you want to do but never get around to doing it. I am also taking advantage of my husband’s phrase “I’ll get around to it later”. Now is later.
I am also taking advantage of more time to exercise. We are both doing a 20-30 minute walk each morning.
I too having been playing games on my tablet. luminosity.com

I’m working on an EP. This is the first time I’ve actually written original music in about a decade, I hope to get it finished in a few months time. One of the tracks is almost complete and has a bit of a David Guetta doof vibe going on, but I think it speaks more true to my earlier music which was trance/rave influenced. Nowadays, my style is pretty much EDM, but a little darker/alternative, more influenced by 80s synth pop (think Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, New Order, Gary Numan etc) and some contemporary synth pop artists. I also applied for a mentorship/grant program for women in music (composers), and it sounds like an amazing opportunity if I am able to get a spot. Wish me luck!

I’ve also constructed my first crochet cardigan/jacket (I think it’s going to be a robe lol), working on a hood for it now, then I’ll be able to attach the sleeves and finish the trim. Some of you saw the squares that are going to be the outside of the sleeves on my Instagram – the designer of the squares (Cute Crochet Makes) chose me to test the patterns and they’re now available to purchase on Ravelry (as part of the cushion cover). The yarn required for the project is also really affordable and I got mine from a website called Lovecrafts in the UK. Takes about 10 days to arrive. The blanket version patterns are free on her website.
