The beauty prep often overlooked
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt of late, it’s that organising a wedding requires you to be a MASTER multi-tasker. Not only is there all the pre-wedding planning to put into motion (think: venue, bridesmaids, caterers, seating arrangements – the list literally goes on, and on, and on…), but as you near the big day, there’s also a LOT of beauty prep you need to be on top of, too.
And while no bride I know has ever forgotten to get fuzz-free, apply her fake tan, or do her hair and make-up on her wedding day (can you imagine??!) there is one element that often gets forgotten: feet.
Yep, those two little things may not seem so significant when you’re stressing about fitting into your dress, but trust me, they’re the two things you’re going to be relying on the most to get you through your big day. (Well, besides your groom of course!)
So don’t forget your feet in the lead-up to your wedding. Prep them properly and you’ll be able to kick up your heels and enjoy every moment of your special day!
For feet that LOOK good…
Most wedding shoes these days are either sling-back, peep-toe, or both. No matter which end of your foot is on display, no bride wants ingrown toenails or dry, cracked skin bringing down their look. Arming yourself with an effective electronic foot file is the quickest and easiest way to eliminate that hard, cracked skin. We like the Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi Electronic Foot File as it gently buffs away hard skin, leaving you with soft, smooth-looking feet in minutes. (We bet your hubby-to-be will also appreciate them when he’s snuggling up to you on your wedding night!) Learning how to correctly cut your toenails is also invaluable in preventing ingrown and ugly-looking nails in the lead-up to your wedding. Once you’ve got that sorted, any pretty polish you choose will look a treat on your feet!
For feet that FEEL good…
Sure, the foot file will have you sorted in the smoothness department, but what about feet that feel good to actually stand on? Yes, throughout the WHOLE day and night. For this, you first need to make sure that the shoes you choose for your big day a.) fit you properly (if they already hurt in the shop, they’re only going to get worse), and b.) are achievable to walk in (making your eight-inch heel debut on your wedding day can only equal disaster!) Once that’s sorted, it always pays to have some extra insurance up your sleeve – or in your shoe, in this instance! Scholl Party Feet Invisible Gel Cushions can be fitted into your wedding heels to cushion the balls of your feet and keep you comfortable for longer. One of our Trial Team members has said they were ‘a saviour’ for her feet! Read more reviews, here...
Top tip: not a bride-to-be? There’s no reason why you can’t steal these foot-prep tips, too. They’ll ensure your feet always look soft and smooth, and will see you sail comfortably through any high heel-worthy event!
