Sleek and stylish all the way

Either Blake Lively’s got a perpetual case of greasy hair, or she’s working on a new signature style.
Whatever the reason, the Gossip Girl star rocks the slicked-back look like no-one’s business, making it look chic, effortless and totally red carpet-worthy.
So the next time you a.) can’t be bothered to wash your locks, b.) need to disguise a bad hair day, or c.) strut your stuff down the red carpet (what? A girl should always have goals…), channel Ms Lively and you’ll be guaranteed to be hitting a hair trend right on the...erm…head.
Here’s how to recreate Blake’s signature style:
1.) If your hair is relatively clean, work some smoothing serum through your roots and down towards your ends. (Try: Clairol Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizzness Smoothing Serum). If your hair is greasy – good for you, no product needed!
2.) Tip your head upside-down and pull your strands towards the crown of your head, gathering them into a high ponytail.
3.) Still holding your hair, stand upright and make sure your root area is well slicked back and devoid of any bumps or fly-aways, before securing your ponytail in place with a snag-free elastic band. Try: Lady Jayne Elastics – Snagless.
4.) If you want to get creative you can then plait your ponytail, wind it around the base of your hair elastic and fasten with bobby pins to create a braided bun.
5.) Finish with a spritz of shine-enhancing finishing spray. Try: Aveda Brilliant Hairspray.
What do you do to disguise a greasy hair day?

Dry shampoo is good as well as putting hair up for disguising greasy hair.

I spray some dry shampoo onto it, and just put it onto a bun. And teasing helps too.

The slicked back look looks great on Blake, but you need a good shaped face in order to pull it off in my opinion. Good bone structure? Small face? However confidence is key!

she pulls this look off so well... for me I have to straighten my hair before I can do this look as my hair is really unrulely and very curly and has a total mind of its own!! Love the look

Blake's so beautiful! I love her style in all of the photos shown. As for me, just put it up and out of sight.

I agree and it's so messy for such nice outfits. I have dry hair so I can't say I know what it's like to have greasy hair. I think she should take some advice though from her co-star Leighton and wear some awesome headbands!

Personally I always think the slicked back into a ponytail look is lazy. I can't imagine why someone would want to get all dressed up and then wear that hairdo. I wear this hairdo to work in my garden or clean my house. I put in a little bit more effort for every other occasion.

I like this look, sleek! Dry shampoo is the best, great for when the old fringe looks a little greasy but you're in a rush in the mornings.
