Grey is the new black
Who would have thought a 45-year-old model would still be strutting her stuff down the top runways, sporting a flowing grey mop to boot?
Enter Kristen McMenamy (signature ghostly grey tresses billowing behind her) – the supermodel who stopped dyeing her hair six years ago and is – gasp – still getting work. In fact, she’s currently flaunting her natural look on the August cover of US Vogue.
Still rocking a body that most women in their 20s would die for, McMenamy clearly doesn’t believe that ageing should be a hindrance. "You can get older and still be rock 'n' roll. I thought all that gray hair would make a beautiful picture," she said.
But while McMenamy has clearly gotten away with going against the norm (she’s previously also shaved her eyebrows, and controversially cropped her hair in the mid-90’s when no one else would dare to do it), somehow I don’t think the dye companies will be going out of business any time soon.
What do you think? Is it refreshing to see a model going ‘natural’ or do you prefer them to look more done up?
