Get the look: summer party styles - page 2
As we creep closer towards the sunny season, poker straight locks and a full face of make-up tend to seem less and less practical. Come summertime, it’s far easier to rock some sultry beach waves or a quick and easy bun, and a barely-there complexion with a pop of gloss, or some emphasis on the eyes.
So in honour of the rising temperatures, we thought we’d deliver you four summer party looks that will have you feeling perfectly in place either in the surf, on the sand or sipping cocktails at the bar…
Beach bun brilliance with Blake Lively
Blake knows that the summer months bring with it a humidity overload, and usually our locks fall victim.
A great way to prevent a frizzy fate is to tie that mane into a chic beach bun at the nape of your neck, and smooth down any layers or flyaways at the front.
Get the look:
- - Run a smoothing serum through your dry, straightened hair to maintain your hair’s flyaway-free status. We like: Matrix Biolage Smooththérapie Deep Smoothing Serum.
- - Grabbing a snag-free hair elastic, tie your mane into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck, twisting it around the elastic to form a simple bun. Secure in place with bobby pins.
- - Next, gently tug at random pieces of hair so that some fall loose from the bun and your ‘do beings to look a little more dishevelled.
- - To finish, sweep your fringe or any loose layers to one side and spritz with a smoothing hairspray to fix in place. If need be, you can also place a bobby pin behind your ear for extra security. We use: Indola Innova Fix Gel Spray.
