The royal wedding
Kate Middleton just married Prince William in a traditional wedding ceremony held at London’s Westminster Abbey – and boy, were we glued to the television screen!
After months of speculation as to who would design Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, the bride-to-be stepped out in a wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Kate’s floor-length ivory wedding dress with lace trim featured a eight-foot train (slightly more manageable than Princess Diana’s 25-foot train!) and was the picture of classic elegance.
Despite some controversy as to whether Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, stole the show in her figure-hugging ivory dress (also designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen), we think the bride looked exquisite – as did Prince William, who told her she “looked beautiful” when she met him at the altar at Westminster Abbey.
Kate’s classic wedding dress was matched by her natural looking make-up (we loved her strong eyebrows and the pop of pink blush on her cheeks) and soft flowing hair, which was tied in a half knot to hold a diamond tiara in place, kindly lent to her by the Queen.
But enough chatter, on to the fun part – check out our royal wedding picture gallery...
