Wedding makeup inspiration

Every girl has an idea of how they’d like to look on their big day. Perhaps you can’t quite picture the dress or envision exactly how you’ll wear your hair, but odds are you have an idea of the make-up you’ll wear. Why? Because you have an idea of what suits you and you know how to work your best assets.
So with that in mind, we’ve chosen eight celebrity make-up looks that we consider well and truly wedding day-appropriate. Your job is to choose which one best coincides with your style and accentuates your best assets. After all, don’t we all want to look the best we possibly can on our Big Day?
YOU LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT YOUR CHEEKS: a la Michelle Williams
So you’ve been blessed with super-high cheekbones? Lucky you. It definitely makes sense to highlight them on what is sure to be the best day of your life. What you need is a whole make-up look that complements your cheeks and makes you look and feel confident – and sexy. For this look you’ll need a deep brown kohl pencil, a glossy lip hue and a pink blush that works to highlight your cheekbones and give them the attention they deserve. Our top picks for this look are Models Prefer Kohl Pencil in Coffee Brown, NIVEA Lip Care Natural Volume Lip Gloss and Bobbi Brown Neons & Nudes Blushes in Nude Pink.
YOUR EYES ARE YOUR BEST ASSET: a la Elizabeth Olsen
If your eyes are your best asset, just like Elizabeth Olsen’s set of big, green peepers, you’re going to want to wear an eyeshadow colour that makes them pop! If you don’t want to settle for the run-of-the-mill black smoky eye, opt for a grey or bronze hue instead. Remember to take your shadow down around your bottom lash line to keep it consistent with your eyelids. Team it with lashings of black mascara and neutral shades on your cheeks and lips to ensure your eyes stay the focal point of your look. We love Nude by Nature Magic Mineral Mascara and Innoxa Eye Shadow Compacts in gorgeous grey.
YOU LIKE TO WEAR DARK HUES ON YOUR EYES: a la Nina Dobrev
If smoky eyes are your signature beauty look, then no doubt you’ll probably choose to rock a variation on your wedding day. Layering up the colour using long-wear products is important if you want it to stay put throughout the day and night, and the same goes for your foundation, too. Swapping a blush for a bronzer is a great way to add definition to your cheeks, while keeping your lips nude diverts all attention to your eyes. For this look we love Lycogel Breathable Camouflage Foundation, Natio Mineral Pressed Powder Bronzer and Bourjois Smoky Eyes Eyeshadow Trio in Gris Dandy (grey palette).
YOUR LIPS ARE YOUR BEST ASSET: a la Kate Bosworth
If you want to draw attention to your pout on your big day, some brides may choose to stray away from traditional nude and blush pink lip hues and opt for something a little brighter instead. Dark pink lip colours are a great way to ensure you don’t look washed-out and to attract attention. The trick is to keep everything else on your face neutral and stick to a tonal blush, a sweeping of brow powder and a few coats of mascara. We love Rimmel London 3in1 Multi Tonal Blush and Chi Chi Viva La Diva Lipstick in Bimbo (a deep magenta).
YOU LIKE TO LOOK NATURALLY MADE-UP: a la Brit Marling
If you’re the kind of girl that doesn’t like to wear much make-up, but feel the need to turn it up a notch on your wedding day, make like Brit Marling and go for the English Rose look. That means subtle flushed cheeks, tinted lips, brushed brows, some subtle black eyeliner and mascara, and a touch of silver shadow on the inner corners of your eyes. Our top product picks for this look are: The Body Shop All-In-One Cheek Colour, Max Factor Lipfinity Lip Tint in Pink Petal and essence Eyeshadow in Silver.
YOUR LOVE TO ROCK BOLD BROWS: a la Rachel Weisz
If you have great brows, or want to fake it to make them great for your big day, then a strong, beautiful look like Rachel’s will be the perfect accompaniment. For this look, it’s important to ensure you build up the strength of the colours around your eyes an in your brows and allow your cheeks and lips to be sheer. It’s all about balance, and Rachel gets it just right with this look. We love Innoxa Liquid Eyeliner Pen, La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush and ARTISTRY Automatic Eyebrow Pencil.
YOU LIKE SEXY MAKE-UP LOOKS: a la Dita Von Teese
So you’re the kind of girl that likes to rock a Kim Kardashian-style make-up look, right? You love your make-up and lots of it – and you always look totally glamorous. Your wedding day will be no exception. If you love the way a red lip looks on you then you should definitely wear one on your Big Day. Make like Dita and team your bright pout with some bold brows and long fluttery black lashes. For this look we love glo minerals Brow powder duos, Estée Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick in Rich Red, and Eylure Naturalites Accent and Lengthen Lashes 162. We love these lashes as they help to elongate and accent eyes to create a vintage, cat-like effect. Meow.
YOUR SKIN IS YOUR BEST ASSET: a la Nicole Richie
If you normally prefer to focus on your complexion rather than a particular feature when it comes to your make-up, be sure to thoroughly hydrate your skin in the lead-up to your big day. For a radiant complexion that seems to shimmer and shine, make sure you highlight the highest parts of your face with either a powder or liquid illuminator. If you’re going for a matte finish, opt for a powder. If you want a dewy finish, use a liquid illuminator. We love Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls and ck one color Skin Illuminator.

The world ending....only scenario I could see with me getting "married". Then I would wear the my usual: mascara, lip tint, blurring spf50 and highlighter

These are all great look's except for Nicole Richie which I don't like at all but instead of just having these certain looks for your big day you can also sport these look's for everyday wear too :)
Michelle Williams in main photo up top that look suit's her as hair look's perfect & her brown eye's pop in that black eye liner.

I honestly can't go past the (more) natural looking styles! Natural, with a bit of highlight of course, is the way to go!

I think I would be going for a natural wedding look, or maybe a bright lip colour-that's if I go down the aisle one day :)

I'm not sure what my best asset on my face is. I'll wait and see what the makeup artist thinks is! I am just going for a natural look on the day

I don't even know what look I would do for my wedding, but it would probably not involve nude toned lips. I think a bit of colour would be nice.

Ooooh they all look so weddingish and beautiful! Except Dita's - it's just so overpowering for my taste for such a dreamy, romantic venue. I love all the others though including Nic's gorgeous glamour eyes! Oh, and I want Nina's earrings!

Elizabeth Olsen is so gorgeous! I think I'd like a look like hers. A soft smokey eye, something that is timeless yet still not too plain and natural.
