Every season has its pros and cons, but winter seems to be the king of all evils when it comes to beauty. Therefore it was only fitting that our latest discovery bag was filled with goodies to conquer scaly skin, repair dry and brittle nails and refresh the complexion.
So did these products help our members beat the winter blues?
Exfoliating is the first step to treating scaly skin. The LYCON Body Exfoliant has a creamy formula that buffs away dead skin cells to leave the skin flake-free.
“I found this product lovely to use. It had the perfect texture and the bamboo granules worked wonderfully to scrub the skin in a firm but not harsh manner. I felt like it was working well to remove all the dead skin while at the same time being gentle enough to not cause harm. Once in the shower and the exfoliant was washed away my skin felt lovely, smooth and hydrated.” -Meedee
“It has a pleasant but subtle grapefruit and lemon scent. I like that the creaminess of the exfoliant helps the scrubbing beads stick to my skin rather than falling out as it seems to happen with other scrubs. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth without a greasy feeling.” -Gilded
Applying body moisturiser is a must year-round, but even more so in winter. The great thing about this one is that it absorbs really fast, without compromising on hydration.
“It glides on easily to the skin and is more like a thick lotion than a cream. [It is] non-greasy and absorbs well. I use it in the morning after my shower and the aroma lingers on for a short while. It certainly made my skin feel silky smooth and very moisturised and it contains a number of moisturising ingredients including shea butter and allantoin, and the chamomile is very calming to the skin.” -Kassalee
“The lotion is pale pink and quite light, so when pumped out it smooths over the skin beautifully and soaks in very quickly. The scent is amazing, I am in love with it. It reminds me [of] childhood lollies like redskins and sherbet. It is a total pleasure to use.” – Shop A Everyday
Our skin can become really dull and lacklustre in winter, so a sheet mask is the perfect way to liven it back up again. Plus this one has anti-ageing benefits – win-win!
“My skin has never looked better this week. I am really impressed by this mask, and have purchased more. I didn’t notice much of a reduction in wrinkles around my eye area and forehead, but I did notice a massive improvement in skin hydration. If you get wrinkles as a result of dehydration, this mask will definitely help.” -Seezora
“The cloth is soaked in serum but has a gel consistency and doesn’t drip anywhere. The cloth was not too thin and not too thick. It didn’t tear and was light to wear on my face. After I removed the sheet mask my face was super hydrated. My skin absorbed pretty much all of the serum. I think my skin was much dryer than I initially thought it was.” -Beautylover1234
Not only can your cuticles become dry and cracked during winter, but your nails can also weaken, causing them to split or peel. This serum is formulated to give a much-needed hydration boost, for a healthier-looking mani.
“Because I’m mildly germaphobic I wash my hands quite a bit. As a result my nails get dry, brittle and peely especially during winter. Using this serum daily for the past week or so has improved and strengthened my nails. My cuticles are softer and hydrated and my nails don’t peel or chip as often.” -Gilded
“My cuticles are no longer dry at all, which is pretty much a miracle, and my nails are smooth and healthy-looking with no flaking or peeling. It has an intense coconut scent – for me it’s heaven! [And] it has a light gel texture that immediately turns to water, absorbs and disappears.” -Catn2kittens
