4 ways to be prettier in pink

Be it a hot pink or a soft pastel, there’s no colour that can make a girl feel more, erm, girly than pink. And luckily, it’s pretty smack-bang on trend too, making it the perfect shade to sport this summer.

Here are four fabulous ways you can wear pink…

PRETTY IN PINK: ON YOUR NAILS

A coat of colour on your nails is the easiest, most fuss-free way to incorporate a colour trend into your beauty look. If you’re the kind of girl who prefers a shade that’s low-key and will go with everything, opt for a soft pastel pink. But if you’re looking for something loud, vibrant, and all kinds of fun, choose a candy or hot pink nail colour.
Try: piCture Polish in Twinkle, or Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel in Saucy.

PRETTY IN PINK: ON YOUR CHEEKS

Adding a pop of pink to your cheeks helps bring warmth and colour to your complexion, leaving your skin looking healthy and gorgeous. For a natural looking finish, match your blush colour to your natural lip colour; for something that stands out a bit more, choose a shade that’s a shade or two brighter.
Try: mineral fusion Blush in Flashy, or The Body Shop All-In-One Cheek Colour in Marshmallow.

PRETTY IN PINK: ON YOUR LIPS

Nothing says summer fun more than a pretty pink pout. Wear it sheer for a subtly feminine everyday look; sport a candy-coloured shade for a dressed-up daytime style; or go all out with the hottest of hot pinks for a night on the town. See? It’s the shade that has you covered for any occasion!
Try: Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour in Super Strawberry, Innoxa Couleurs D’ete Summer Matte Lipstick in Baby Doll, or Maybelline New York ColorSensational in Vivid Rose.

PRETTY IN PINK: IN YOUR HAIR

Dip-dyed ends made a pretty grand entrance into the world of hair colour last year, and it doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon (hooray!). There’s no better time than summer to embrace your frivolous side and sport a flashy pink hue on the ends of your hair. It’s fun, it’s fashion-forward, and it’ll leave you feeling like a million bucks.
Try: Schwarzkopf Ultra Brights in Shocking Pink. The shade will work best on lightened hair so if your ends are dark, apply some Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Ultimate Lightener L1++ on the ends (it’s up to you how high you want to take the colour.) Before applying, backcomb your hair from the ends up. This will help give a more gradual, blended result. Once your ends are lightened and your hair dry, mix your pink colour in a bowl. Backcomb your ends again and use your hands to apply the pink mixture to your blonde ends. Leave the pink to develop as directed and then rinse the colour out completely before shampooing. Blow-dry, curl or straighten, and viola! Pretty pink ends are all yours!
