There’s not much we don’t know about Victoria Beckham. From what she eats every day to the products in her skin care routine, and even her favourite perfume, we’re privy to a lot. But as she graces the cover of Grazia to celebrate the launch of VB Body, we’ve since learned about her quest to ‘feel sexy again’.
“For quite a few years, the more time I spent working in fashion, the more clothes I wore and I ended up buried under all these fashion ‘layers’,” she told the publication.
“So, last year, when I was in Miami and starting to go out again, post-Covid, I wanted a change. I wanted to feel sexy again.”
Victoria Beckham’s change in body attitude
It turns out Miami provided a lot of inspiration for the VB Body range, which features ‘form-fitting knitted pieces created to flatter the body’.
“There are a lot of really curvy women in Miami, and they really own it, you know? They walk along Miami beach with not a lot of clothes on, and they look fantastic.”
The 48-year-old said she found their attitude and style really liberating. She even spoke about the desire for slimmer frames being a thing of the past.
“It’s an old-fashioned attitude, wanting to be really thin. I think women today want to look healthy, and curvy.”
So how is VB getting her sexy back? By upping the weights.
Yep, the fashion designer hits the gym almost every day. She shared that she’s been working particularly hard on her backside, with the help of a personal trainer.
“I’ve always been a bit scared of weights, but it turns out I love them. I’ve even got those special gloves to wear! It’s good to switch things up and keep your body guessing. I’ve got so much more muscle tone now.”
And in case you were wondering, David does join her in the gym. In fact, despite his athleticism, Victoria says he’s the one more likely to procrastinate in a session. Get him, VB.
Are you a fan of Victoria Beckham? What helps you to feel more confident?
I have callouses on my hands form weightlifting. No gloves here. Be happy in your skin VB.
Given how she’s had body issues, it’s great to read she has a refreshing view on it now.
VB would look good with curves, also a smile occasionally would help!
I enjoy doing weights as well!
Never tried weights but my daughter loves them.
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen VB smile so big! 🙂
I don’t want to be rake thin.
I would like to give weights a try just to see if it’s something I can sustain.
I think the secret is to learn to live your body, nobody is perfect at the end of the day.
I love my weights routine, it keeps me toned and allows me to have guilt-free pigouts occasionally.
Getting a great trainer is key as well. I love mine. She’s all about balancing the mind and the body, and feeling confident in the skin you’re in. And she encourages gloves for weights, especially if you get sweaty hands.
Gloves are not just to avoid callouses, but for safety too 😀
I really need to start doing weights again. They really do help to tone the bod.
Good on her
My middle daughter is quite focussed on weights – I think she will have good bones because of it!
Good on her -It should strengthen bones and keep her in good shape
I’m not a fan of Victoria Beckham
I love cardio. Wish I could get into weights.
Glad she is into weights. Good for all body types. I’m not really a fan but interested in her makeup line.
Not a fan of VB -I would like to see her smile and perhaps at least look like she has fun sometimes
I love Victoria! She’s a hoot!
I need to get into weights!
It proves that money can’t buy happiness.
It is great that she is exercising with weights. That is really important for over 40’s to maintain muscle strength.
Nice to hear
Sounds healthy and positive.
She is great. No need to go crazy on weights. Just be as she is naturally.
Yes agree, I think this would be something we could all think about.
Never needed to work on my confidence so I can be as relaxed as I am always. I guess eating healthy makes things easier and better.
Nice to hear she is happy with curves after years of looking unhappy and trying to keep ultra skinny.
She’s always been so thin – it’s great that she’s becoming more open & liberated!
I definitely endorse her recommendation of hitting weights at the gym.
I’ve never been a fan of Victoria Beckham. Seems very snobby.
This is one amazing lady.
I should try weights
I love how positive she is about it
I like the focus on health instead of being thin.
