Holding an applicator tampon to the screen, TikTok user @ag380gtmgtm revealed: “I’m about to show you a life hack”. And boy, oh boy did she ever.

“Pour some nail polish remover in the lid here and soak it up” she instructed as she dipped a tampon into poured out nail polish, allowing it to soak for a few seconds until the tampon was adequately saturated.

Going on to demonstrate, she rubbed the tip of the tampon to successfully remove the polish off her big toe, holding the end of the applicator as a handle.

And voila, “you can take your nail polish off without messing up your fingernails.”

After its initial upload in April, TikTok user @ag380gtmgtm’s video has already received over one million views. So if you were feeling a little sheepish to try this beauty hack out, it’s safe to say you’ll have a few million companions right beside you.

  1. I think the point is to not ruin you nail polish on your fingernails when redoing your feet but it’s very very rare (actually never) that my fingernail polish is in a better state than my toenails.

  2. That was my first thought as well. And a it really only makes sense if you’re doing just your toenails, but since your fingernails are more prone to chipping and need to be done more often (not to mention coordinating toenails and fingernails is something most of us do), I really don’t think it’s all that impressive.

  3. What a clever idea to save finger nails. I find my fingers a total mess when taking off red toe nail polish but at my age, I am not going out to buy tampons. I would get strange looks I am sure.
