Hello sailor

Hello sailor

The nautical theme is here to stay if D&G have their way – and let’s face it, with fans like Posh and a rumoured signing of Naomi Campbell – they probably will. The dynamic duo’s models strutted their stuff in stripes, anchors and swimming caps your granny would be proud of in Milan earlier this week.

But sailor-chic isn’t for the faint-hearted (it can leave you feeling a little sea sick if you stare at those stripes for too long), so as always, we’ll be dipping our toes into this trend the beauty way.

Personally, I love nothing more than a good old sand scrub. The wet sand on bronzed limbs kind. Oh yes, free exfoliation is the way to this girl’s heart. But sadly, despite the English in me wanting to strip off, (it has reached 20°C you know!) I’m not quite warm enough to start the outdoorsy rubdown just yet.

That doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing nautical at chez moi though. Quite the opposite. I’ve been using Manicare Cosmetic Sea Sponge for years now (I have purchased a new one throughout those years, fear not) but still can’t work out whether it’s retro cool or just very sad? Do tell.

Platypus Dreams Dead Sea Mud – Gourmet Natural Soap has also worked its way into my daily ritual. Admittedly, not the most attractive of the range (I’d much prefer the choccy cake) but I just can’t get enough of its gentle exfoliating action.

Last, but by no means least, I’ve been soaking my tired limbs in Spalasium by Pevonia Bath Salts with Essential Oils in Sea of Youth of an evening. It’s like floating gently in a sea of calm. Sheer bliss.

What sea-y treats do you love?

p.s. You can nab yourself a Platypus Dreams gift pack in this week’s member comp. Click here to enter now. But if you’re not already a member be sure to sign up beforehand: it’s a cinch, and so, so worth it, trust me.
