Easy fixes for chipped nails

Chipped nails are sadly unavoidable* – whether if it’s after one day (because you naughtily didn’t apply a top and/or base coat) or after five. And it always seems like it happens right before your big meeting/interview/date when you want your nails to look immaculate. Which is highly annoying and infuriating.

So allow me to introduce you to three quick and easy fixes that’ll turn those chipped nails into a manicure you can be proud of. Oh, and you can expect not to read ‘remove your polish repaint your nails, duh.’ Ain’t nobody got time for that.

QUICK FIXES FOR CHIPPED NAILS

1) The art of camouflage

Take a toothpick or bobby pin and dip the end into your nail polish (obviously it must be the same shade as you’re currently wearing, otherwise this trick will do the opposite of work.) Carefully use the polish-covered tip to fill in the chip. Voila!
Tip: if the patch looks a little blobby, use your nail polish brush (with very little polish on it) to smooth out the edges.

2) File the evidence away

This will only work if you’re dealing with a small chip at the tip of your nail. Take your nail file and evenly file down any nails with chips until they disappear.

3) Add a little pizazz

Not only is using glitter polish a great way to add some sparkle and shine to your manicure, it’s also a nifty little trick you can use to hide any chips. Just be aware that the bigger the chip, the more coats of glitter polish you’ll need to apply.

*Unless you’re using gel polish. Then you’re living a happy, chip-free existence.

Have you used any of these tricks to hide chips in your manicure? Do you have any other handy tricks?
