Another day, another hard task: lunching with the gorgeous Kate Ritchie. That’s right; yesterday I got the pinch-me job of sitting down to lunch with the Gold Logie winner to celebrate her appointment as brand ambassador for the new-look Vaseline Hand and Body range (which will filter into stores from August). And what a celebration it was.
The lunch, held at Sydney’s Quay restaurant, was MC’d by Tom Williams – who had the entire crowd swooning. Williams reported that, as a nation, we’re fairly bad at moisturising our bodies every day, something that both Vaseline and Ritchie are hoping to change. He also gave a glowing report on how Ritchie became a great role model for Aussie women thanks to her positive, friendly and down-to-earth attitude – all values that Vaseline, as a brand, evokes too.
Leading a hectic lifestyle with her early morning starts for NOVA 96.9’s breakfast show alongside Merrick and Rosso, Ritchie still manages to maintain a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle, and wear a smile.
The quintessential girl-next-door, Ritchie said the appointment was a match made in heaven (and not just because of all the free products that her mum will be fighting her for!). As you can imagine, the stunning Ritchie (whose long, luscious locks were super-shiny) gets approached to do heaps of things, however, she confessed that it’s nice to not feel like this appointment is a stretch, having grown up using Vaseline Body products for years.
Ritchie’s mum Heather was also there to join in the celebration, support the family notion of the brand and to make sure we didn’t miss her cameo in the television ad that will be hitting screens on Sunday, during the final for MasterChef Australia, so keep your eyes peeled!
Hence our lovely mums were invited along too. Mum jumped at the chance to celebrate a brand that we use regularly ourselves and also meet the lovely Kate Ritchie – so here it is mum, the snap you were waiting for…
