How-to: choose your chewing gum

by

Why is it that bad guys and rebels are always chewing gum in the movies? The truth is, gum is anything but bad-arse, it’s actually super virtuous! Chewing gum has many more uses besides making you look tough. In fact, chewing gum after eating aids digestion and can get you out of a bad breath bind when you’ve eaten too much garlic bread. It’s also a nifty little fix when you’re in a jam – it can plug holes, stop leaky pipes and stick posters to the wall! Ok, so none of those uses are recommended, but we still think it’s pretty cool! Here’s how to pick the gum that’s right for you…

If you suffer bad breath…
Chew cinnamon gum. Studies have found that chewing on cinnamon gum can cut down odour-causing bacteria in the mouth by up to fifty percent!

If you’ve got a hot date…
Chew on orange gum. Research has shown that men find the smell of orange alluring, so pop some orange chewy before meeting your date.

If you suffer from stress and anxiety…
Chew on a long-lasting gum. The longer you chew, the more your stress fades away, certain studies have suggested

If you have dull teeth…
Chew on teeth-whitening gum. A new range of specific teeth-whitening chewing gums have hit the shelves recently, so try one for yourself and see the difference.

If you’re on a diet…
Chew on sugar-free gum. It’s got almost no calories whatsoever and it will allow you to indulge your sweet cravings throughout the day, guilt-free!

Now who said gum wasn’t clever?

  1. The only real one that may be of use to me now is the teeth whitening one – the orange scented one doesn’t suit me anymore as I’m not trying to attract males! Ha if I’d knew that I would have chewed it around the guy I was besotted with 25 years ago!! Love that tip!
